This is embarrassing but seems I have misplaced head of Horus. Don't know how that managed to happen. The damn model had been lying on my desk for couple months without me touching it but there you go. Head nowhere to be seen :-/
Unless I can locate it after all any suggestions on how to get at least passable head replacement? Maybe one day I have enough spare money to buy new Horus but now that would sting too much so replacement head is preferable solution(well obviously locating the original one is THE prefered solution...)
Not good at green stuff sculpting alas :(

I'm not sure about the scale of Horus, but I've seen someone do a really sweet Perturabo conversion using a Contemptor dreadnaught head as a helmeted head.
So maybe looking for some medium size mech bits you can use for a helmet?

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy. |

Email Forgeworld, they may be able to send you a spare.
Be honest, say you lost it, and see what they do.

Alas while they are good at replacing missing etc pieces haven't heard them sending up bits to replace lost ones :-/ Would gladly pay something like 15£ for one in a heartbeat(beats paying about 70£ for new one!) but doing such tiny custom orders just isn't feasible service when blame is on me. (and no won't try to be dishonest and lie. Goes way beyond my moral fiber. And even from greedy view that is lie that they should catch up pretty easily...Who would notice missing piece like 3-4 MONTHS after getting hands on primarch? Would get my name on black list likely anyway for an attempt)
Still can't figure how it could have gone out from table. I even ripped open vacuum cleaner bag in case it had dropped and ended up vacuum cleaned but nope.
Oh and for ScarletRose the "hood" where head puts is about enough size that MKIV power armour head fits there. From pics takes about same size as original head. Which makes me think in scale helmet wouldn't even fit there...
Bare helmets there are WAY too small. Looks like kid in an armour.

I think you should be looking at AOS models. They are larger scale, and in fact AL players often use sigmarines as the base for their Alpharius conversions.

Nope. No cat, no animal whatsoever. Would love to have a cat but allergic so unless I want to spend my days red eyed with slight breathing troubles cats are out.
Whatever happened it has HAD to be me because in the past few months there's not even been any visitors. I'm usually the one visiting plus like month between Horus coming to my home and now was spent with me in Japan(and fairly obvious nobody has broken in and stolen it! Who steals just one resin head and leaves everything else, including full assembled Horus body, computer, external HD, monitor, tv and whatnot left ).
Frankly it SHOULD be here. About only way I can think it might have gone was when I cleaned my table a bit. Don't think I threw any resin to garbage but obviously can't be 100% sure. If I did then it's gone and out(went even to check garbage bin but it's been emptied...).
MKIV set bare head would look nice replacement but tad small. Helmet less fan of a look plus still size would be bit odd. Terminator heads are basically just upper part so not really fitting here. Don't have spare contemptor head either.
Ebay doesn't seem to have one on sale(Russ head yes, Horus no...) either and bits stores seems out of contemptor heads(not much FW bits sales which isn't surprising) as well.
Sent email to FW in case they would have spare head they would be willing to send but frankly I think odds are better for finding original one :-/ Automatically Appended Next Post: Power Elephant wrote:I think you should be looking at AOS models. Hum that's actually workable idea...
...That's funny actually. I despise AOS and have sworn not to buy AOS models but if they turn out to help me out here that's rather ironic

Might be worth looking on eBay for a lorgar head as well, they are similar enough.

Or look for a suitably characterful helmeted option.. I forget if his helmet is on the model anywhere that might conflict with that.

Honestly just ask them. send a quick email to see if they are willing to replace it
i get it feels weird considering you misplaced it and it wasnt some kinda casting issue but i hightly doubt they would be bothered to replace a piece that you spent a butt load of money on already.

Oh I did send them email. I'm just not holding much hope for success on that front thus looking for alternatives.
If they happen to have pile of heads lying around sure no problem but probably don't have tons of them and casting one specifically to replace when it's not even part of reasonable customer service makes little business sense alas.
We'll see.
Oh and for MeanGreenStompa that's very nice custom helmet. Wish I was even half as good sculptor! I love the original Horus head(part of reason why I wanted the model in the first place!) but that would be pretty sweet one too. (and makes more logical sense...Bare heads in battlefield )

That's pretty good idea. Seems to be bit hard to find but maybe somebody in finland has spare to sell.
edit: Happy ending. FW went way beyond call of duty so to speak and as this was first request I had made did one off replacement for free. WOW! I'm so grateful I order some stuff for ~250£(free postage) after all from them. Been depating whether to order or not but this is such a nice service it tipped the balance.

I know you were super reluctant to ask them, but it's always worth trying; the worst they can say is "no". Glad they came through for you though!

Oh I wasn't reluctant as I had sent message right away. I just wasn't banking on it actually happening as I had read people's experiences where they DIDN'T send replacement in clear case of customer fault rather than never arrived/miscast which is why I wanted some ideas(and got couple good ones so if FW wouldn't have helped out maybe I could have done at least something passable! Guilliman head was most promising one if I could have got. Get rid of eagle and get rid of laurel and most of work done. Maybe simple sculpting of new mouth piece).
Though it wasn't EXACTLY free FW sent me...They asked in return photo of the finished product! YIKES! No pressure eh? Going to be tough model to paint to make justice! I found interesting guide for black armour I'll be trying out(first with couple spare models though for practice!).
