So, I'm sat here trying to make some lists but I really have no idea what size games are going to be the generally accepted "normal". I know that 1850 was pretty much the standard where I play in 7th. I also know that this vastly depends on your local scene or whatever tournaments decide to run. I just wanted to canvas a few thoughts about popular list sizes. With the vast change of points across the board, I can really see the standard shifting drastically from what people are used to.

2000 seems to be where they've been aiming. My local shops have been favoring 2000 since 5e at least too, so we'll probably still do so (but might move to 2500, we were already trending that way a bit in 7e).
1850 has been popular because of tournaments - I know most of the time, when folks were playing at 1850 at my shops, it was because of tournaments rather than the local tourneys doing 1850 because that's what everyone was doing anyway.

Well, almost everything is more expensive now (except maybe basic troops), and overall it seems like what is 2000 in 7th is going to be more like 2500 in 8th.

Well I've only really look at Guard, as that is what I am familiar with. Most of our units are cheaper, or at most slightly more expensive. Guard infantry is far cheaper and things like russes have gone up much less than other factions' vehicles.

Seems prices have gone up in general but not by a whole lot and other things got cheaper. 2000 is probably about what a 1850 used to be.

I bet it stays 1850 for a while.
For me I tink that 1500 would be more fun as a standard.
But I bet that the points will run something like sub 1000 for skirmish type games maybe on 4x4 tables.
Sub 2000 as in hopefully 15-1800 on 6x4 and 2000+ on 8x4...
Then again I don't like big mindless mashups and super brawls without sense. Rather I like a chess game between radically different forces on infinitely variable boards...

Everything got a price increase, so a 1500 pt army in 7th ed will be 2000 points in 8th. This is actually awesome, because it means GW really did make things more granular with points (albeit, it could have been even higher... but still)!

We will know when the TO's announce their points requirements. It might be low, like 1000-1500 to make games faster.

I imagine 1500 and 2000 will be standard based on the points costs I've seen.
