Without getting too far into the "what got nerfed" debate, I'd like some feedback on how you would use these models
Either as Eldar players, or what you would like to see an Eldar player play:


Some back story on these, I converted them back when the WK first came out it was a mere 240pts and was basically just a Wraithlord with twice the movement and wounds.
I play Saim-Hann style Eldar, so putting a WL on a jetbike was a stroke of genius (not actually my idea, I think someone on BoLS did one first)
And I made 2 of them as my primary anti-tank units. Afterall, they were just Heavy Support MCs, so why not take 2

Then the dreaded 7E Craftworld codex dropped. WKs became LoW GMCs. They did not get a sufficient price increase for this.
So even though I could still easily take both of them, it made me TFG. So outside of Tourneys, I only took the 1 actual WK I own (pictured center)
I was hoping for the day when the rules would update and the WK would get toned down enough that I could take my 2 beloved conversions in casual games again.

Well, that day isn't coming. The basic WK is over 500pts. Taking 2 will mean I won't have enough points for a decent army to support them.
So what options do you guys think might work?
I should mention that all the weapons are magnetized, so I could put a Prism cannon under them. Or a Night Spinner.
I seem to be stuck on tanks, but I know theirs got to be a better option. And using them a Wraithlords doesn't explain the jetbike part of them, so that's out

Thoughts? Sugestions? Counts as something not Eldar?

Unfortunately dude, its just the way it is.

My sword and board lychguard are pretty crap now, can tank wounds on a 2+ from HQ's, but they get mortal wounds, making them a very expensive way to add wounds to the HQ.

My flayed ones are 21 points base, making a squad of 20 of them 420 points...... :(

My CCB is a HQ choice that doesn't have the character keyword, meaning it can be targeted all day, even though its <10W.

Lots of changes in this edition, looks like you're amazing conversions will just have to wait for another edition.

A full kitted squad of Broadsides cost now 780 points. They have go up 250% in point cost. I normally bring to the table three in 7th. Now I'll bring one if I feel like it.

1k for two WraithKnights in a 2k point game isn't a problem.

So I keep thinking that my models have to be used as Grav Tanks, but it occurred to me that they could instead count as Hemlocks.

What do you think?

A Wraith Lord on a modified Vyper would probably be T6 as that is the average between the T5 Vyper and T7 WL. Both have 3+ armour.
And my models are already on the same base size as the Hemlock.
Being a Flyer could also explain why the WL's melee abilities are no existent on the model: because it is too fast and high up to be in melee.
It also makes more sense than using them as Grav Tanks since both a WL and the Hemlock are Wraith-constructs.
Fluff-wise, they can be dead Warlock Windriders from Saim-Hann that retained their psychic powers in death and prefer jetbikes, so they had special Vypers modified to carry them (and faster than normal)

I think using them as Hemlocks will be my solution going forward in 8E.

Well, whatever your opponents will let you run them as is gonna be good to go. Personally, I'd continue to run them as you have, especially if you're going to play with people who remember them as WLs in prior editions.

Plus, you never know if or when the prices will change. It might just mean you play higher point values to use them all.

Why not (and this sounds mad at first but hear me out) Very fancy shining spear leaders.

Also any of the dedicated eldar tanks seems reasonable to me.

Also to the Necron player who complained, check the CCB part in the latest FAQ, hey're characters now.

That's a monstrously large Shining Spear...

I could see them as Iyenden (probably spelled wrong) nightwings or phoenixes.

could also probably run as scorpion type IIs as well

Haven;t you read the latest faq? The CCB had the 'Character' keyword added to it.

I'll probably not use them as Spear Exarchs as they are WAY too big for that. Using them as Grav Tanks is still an option, but I am really leaning towards Hemlocks

They are on Flyer bases already, they are meant to be Saim-hann jetbike-riding Wraith constructs, so the Hemlock fits.
And I am ok to ignore the melee capabilities of the WL if it is because the jetbike is super-sonic, thus not allowing for melee. If used as Grav-tanks, that is harder for me to justify why the sword wielding WL only hits on 6s

It's definitely been a struggle since WKs first changed from Heavy Support MCs to LoW Gargantuans. My models have also spent an extensive amount of time as Grey Knight Dreadknights, but those days are over too (kinda glad for that though). Not sure what to do with my Harlberd wielding Psycannon toting Wraithguard that counted as GK terminators though.
I think I have to cut off the sword to help really sell the models as non-combat flyers. I'll probably magnetize them just in case I want to run them as WKs again in 1-off games using 3 WKs
