This is the first bust that Ive painted and/or sculpted. I wish I had printed the base a bit smaller. I learned a lot from painting this though, and I would encourage anyone who's never done a bust to give one a try, this was very challenging.

I could keep working on it forever but Ive got other projects I have to move on to...for the most part I tried to establish light using crosshatching but it worked in some areas and not so much in others. I probably spent more time on the face
than everything else and am still not satisfied. I did the eyes in about two minutes (supposed to be the hard part), yet shading the face was a constant back and forth.

However, I think that the next time I do one Ill be a lot more prepared and the results will be nicer, so I dont regret the work at all even if it fell short of what I wanted. Advice for next time (besides 'do better') is appreciated!

This is the original render, she's 2.5 inches tall before the base.

Very cleanly done!

I saw with eyes then young, and this is my testament.

Thanks Im glad you think so, thats the part I struggled with until I gave up. Smoothing her out just seemed impossible. (story of my life)
