I'm having my final game of 7th edition this week, with my Grey Knights. I'll be playing a regular opponent of mine, who'll be using Astra Militarum and he always takes a Culexus Assassin vs my GKs. Any advice on how to neutralise the assassin?

He's such a thorn in my side, with good positioning taking away all my psychic ability and his AP1 shooting making a mess of my army.

My army consists of two librarians, three terminator squads, two dreadknights and a stormraven. My army wants to get up close to his, but he Culexus makes a real road block.

Any advice?

What weapons do your Dreadknights have? If you have the Heavy Incinerators on it, just teleport close to it and burn it to death.

They do have incinerators, but even if both manage to wound and he fails his saves it would only be two wounds taken (bring on 8th when they cause D6 hits even on characters )

He only has three wounds. You should be able to make up the difference with Storm Bolters or the Stormraven.

So do you reckon I should focus everything on taking him out first, and then go after the rest of his army once he's gone?

Well, maybe not everything, but a walking bubble of My Army Is Worthless dealt with rather quickly.

A quick question. It says that Culexus assassins cannot be targeted with psychic powers. Can I cast Force on my Gatling Psilencer and hope for a lucky shot to sneak through and instant kill him? Or does the Culexus' rules mean that Instant Death granted by Force doesn't affect him?

Force targets your unit, not him and grants the Instant Death special rule. Instant Death is not a psychic power so it should effect the Culexus normally.

For Example: if the power is a 6+ it becomes an 8+
He/She also has the Speculum which is basically an 18' Psychic sniper than does D6 damage if near an enemy Psyker and is AP -4.

I think this guy was using 7th Rules so it works a bit different.

My answer was assuming he shot at the Culexus from outside its bubble (Gatling Psilencer has longer range).
