Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out if a daemon engine such as the Heldrake or a Maulerfiend would be able to...

A) be the target of the Chaos Daemons psychic power that reads as follows: "If manifested, select a friendly Nurgle Daemon unit within 18" of the psyker."

B) gain the "Disgustingly Resilient" ability

by being assigned a Mark of Nurgle and thereby gaining the Nurgle keyword. Now said model has both the Daemon and the Nurgle keywords.

I'm thinking no to both as neither entries make any reference to keywords. Also the actual Chaos Daemons, daemons have the "Daemons" keyword in their faction keyword section, whereas a Heldrake for example, has it in is regular keyword section, just like an Avatar of Khaine.

please let me know what you think and your reason as to why!

A) nope: in order to be summoned, the unit must have the daemonic ritual ability
B ) nope: a unit must have the disgusting resilient ability on its datasheet.

sorry if it was unclear, but I was referring to a psychic power. More specifically the "Fleshy Abundance" power on the Nurgle Discipline.

Yes, until they FAQ it otherwise, faction keywords are functionally the same as other keywords (page 175 of the rulebook), so there's nothing wrong with what you suggest RAW.

Nope, I do not accept your apology. That was totally my fault there for not reading slowly enough, so as per RAW, it is up to me to apologize. Sorry. Yakface has you covered on the rules.

A) Yes, it has the right keywords to be eligible as a target.
B) RAW I'd say no on this one. Although it would have the Nurgle daemon keywords it doesn't automatically gain the Disgustingly Resilient rule. The BRB says this is common to several daemon units; those that get it have it listed on their data sheet.

Guys, he's not asking two questions. He's asking one question that he broke into two parts...mainly, can he give a Heldrake/Maulerfiend the 'Nurgle' mark and then would that allow him to cast the Fleshy Abundance psychic power on that vehicle.

However, the OP is written rather confusingly (not actually mentioning the Fleshy Abundance psychic power for some reason), so I'm going to lock the thread to avoid any more confusion.
