So much awesome stuff here, but seeing the TLC lavished on those old Eldar brought a tear to my eye. Great work.

Thanks You. They're my true passion - there are more planned, but the army is playable and "done" with just more stuff added as I get bored (still need Falcons, some Vypers, more jetbikes, some more wraithguard and possibly a few more aspect units. Maybe some more pirate stuff).

That's a smorgasbord of awesome there, Elbows! The Nurgle marines in particular stand out, really nice scheme and the use of the Skitarri helms is great!

Thanks, Paradigm. I'm enjoying the complete opposite nature of them...nothing more different to bright white and purple...then rotting greens and browns.

All of this is great, but I think I especially love your low-key Nurgle Chaos marines. That's my kind of aesthetic.

Ooh very nice! Eldar and Nurgle Marines right up my street. Really nice paintwork too

I'll second goblinpaladin's liking of your low-key Nurgle dudes. I'm a big fan of 40k Traitor Marines that actually look like they gradually evolved from their 30k counterparts. Given the warp shenanigans with time, they really should look like they just stepped out of the Heresy (plus a tentacle or two).

When they had the time to sit down and repaint all their armour I don't know. Takes me long enough to paint a 28mm model of it...

Thanks guys. The Chaos aesthetic is pretty much exactly as you guys stated - I like the grungy, ex-HH look. Despite being Chaos I never really understood why that would force a marine to start adding more and more spikes and skulls to his armour. Now admittedly these are just my basic Chaos space marines, so the plague marines will have some seepy bits, some special backpacks and some grotesque heads or something - but I always envisioned a Chaos Space Marine being only slightly evil looking (i.e. I only used a handful of Chaos backpacks and no other actual pieces).

I picture Imperial Guard corvettes running into a battle barge in deep space, and recognizing it as a Space Marine vessel, but being unsure if it's Chaos or not. The spookier "unknown" if they encountered Space Marines on an unknown world. Approaching them and hailing them, only to realize they're actually Chaos, etc. And of course, right when they realize it, the Daemons appear, etc.

Hope to add a bunch more in the next week or so. Waiting on bits, sadly.

Oh hell yeah that's an inspired idea!

It makes so much sense if most Guardsmen have never even seen a Marine before, let alone enough to be able to tell which ones will try to kill you, then of course they'd have no idea whether it's friend or foe. They use the same equipment, same technology, presumably the same identification codes. There'd be no way to tell provided they sent a relatively unmutated emissary.

You could make a fantastic novel out of that narrative too. Hunt for Red October meets Event Horizon,

Loving the old Eldar stuff. The Nurgle is not bad either. The tank looks a little too clean at the moment for my liking though.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

Great stuff - I love the colors you choose and the overall style is outstanding. The tanks though - somehow the rusty metal chipping vs the color doesn't seem to work for me - I feel you need a 3rd color corosion/weathering in there to cut down the contrast. IMHO, of course! Overall I really like how you've got a gritty yet clean look. It's kind of hard to explain.

I've been working on washing/dipping the tanks. Sadly the dip has gone a bit wonky so I may have just ruined them (can probably save them, will take a bit of work).

The clean-gritty look is precisely what I was going for. So I suppose that's something.

While I absolutely love the clean/gritty look you've got for your Nurgle dudes I do think that the tank just needs a smidge more grittiness to catch up with the other guys.

Perhaps it's as simple as giving it a smattering of larger areas of rust/chipping to vary it up a bit and make it swing slightly to the grittier side of things. Either that or some brown washes in recesses where dirt will have collected.

Looking forward to seeing the dipped tank as that was actually my first idea fingers crossed it hasn't resulted in too much work for you!
