Subject: Genestealer cults in Tau worlds senario- accurate?

Hiya!
So I've been working on an animation I've had planned for a long while about a Fire Warrior stuck alone on a genestealer-infested Tau planet. My idea was that perhaps this was a planet that had a science-y base disecting and cataloguing certain Tyrannids to better understand their foe. Their Lictor escaped, however, and hid in the civilian areas, along with some genestealers. They started kidnapping some citizens and infecting them, keeping their new cult below the sewers to keep the authorities unawares about it all (because from how I understand it, reproduction is a whole state afair?)
Eventually they take over the planet, and that's how the story all begins.
I'm just wondering how much of all of that is cannon-friendly (and how it sounds as a premise)
Also as I side note, this is an account I made here a WHILE back, and almost completely forgot about it. I guess my silly UN stopped me from getting back on

Yeah the main point with Genestealer Cults and Tau is that reproduction is state-controlled, so any cult is going to have to work around that.
Your sewers idea works another option is to have the state infected first. So, the people who direct reproduction are actually directing it to further their cult. If that was the case, the cult could spread phenomenally quickly.

Ohhhh, very Prototype. Maybe this setting is a frontier world with a very small and close knit global community - resulting in easy societal collapse. Your fire warrior is just another grunt trying to make it out alive. I can only really see this scenario happening on a frontier planet. The caste system form of social control isn't 100% yet as the hardships of living requires a more hands off approach to succeed.

Hmm, hearing good ideas all around- taking some of those into mind
Mayhaps this world is very recently colonized, and citizens work together to get it all running..
And it's the planet's fronteer-ness that makes the Tau in the area to put a science base there as well!
At first the escaped genestealers wildly start their kidnappings, but when they start getting more coordinated they target the biggest authorities to make their mission easier...
..And since there are already tyrannids on-planet waiting for release, the 'nomming of the planet and subsequent strengthening of The Hive is a very large threat!
*scribbles notes down furiously*

Ooh yeah Prototype is awesome
I like the idea with the escaped experiments beginning with wildly kidnapping people. Perhaps they began like that, but were exterminated by the Fire Caste on that world.
They were all thinking 'Phew! That was mental, but glad we've got through it!'. Little do they know that one of their planetary governers is infected...

Theres some fluff in the GSC codex that describes a bunch of earth caste biologists who were investigating a captured genestealer then started to act strangely enough that an ethereal showed up to investigate. Fortunately, he reported that everything was totally fine.
So, yes, entirely plausible.

It all sounds canon friendly to me. The "genestealer kiss" ( =the infection) messes with the head so the individual might not even be aware that he's avoiding state protocoll. It's also possible the cult infected a few of the people doing the regulation, presumably earth casts. That'd make it easy to have other cult members being given the slip and allowed to breed their adorable little child hybrid monstrosities in secret. Or even "officially" state approved if you want to go full secret society.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary. |

And why not? Seems reasonable. It helps with the "caring religion" image that cults often try to project to outsiders, and it's a good way to recruit/infect new brood brethren (by implanting parents of non-cult children who use the crèche).

Well honey, I don't want to say 'I told you so', but I did say it was suspiciously cheap for daycare...

People might get suspicious when the genestealer infested school keeps winning every sports competition.

Perfectly canonical: see the old Inquisitor tau character
Shortly after the Ria’tan Convocation, Por’la uncovered
information relating to a nascent Tyrannic cult within the families
of Tash’va. The cult had perverted the Tau life-ritual of the Ta’lissera, a sacred bonding ceremony, into something far
worse that culminated in the genestealer’s kiss. Enraged, and
confident that he could take the initiative and tackle the problem
on his own, Por’la called upon a pack of Savage Blade Kroot still
planetside and ‘acquired’ enough pulse carbines and photon grenades from his quartermaster friend’s property to ensure every member of the carnivore squad
was armed to the teeth.
I believe there's also a reference in the first Ciaphas Caine novel to a bunch of fire warriors getting stealer-whammied.

There was a sewer fight draw between Cain and some Tau.
some stealers kissed some Tau.
The humies put a bullet into those that were kissed. The tau offered blankets.
But it was Cain so it might not have ended on him riding a dragon. Or something.
