Subject: Best GOLD-color?

I would like a good gold-color. Preferably a bit towards yellow.
I have Vallejos Model AIR: 066 - Gold (Metallic) but that looks horribly gren/gray-ish!
Any tips?

Well I did a huge gold comparison a few years back if you're interested: http://atticwars40k.blogspot.com/2011/10/great-gold-rush-quest-for-best-gold.html
My conclusion then was that Vallejo Model Colour (Brass and Gold) were the best brushed on and airbrushed.
Andrea also very smooth and nice but a little greenish and it sounds like you don't want that.
Since I've discovered Scale75 metallics and they are wonderful. But imo you can't go wrong with Vallejo Model Colour Brass and Gold.

I use predominantly Vallejo Brass and "Old Gold". Both quality paints. Brass being far more yellow. Old Gold is like pale sand by comparison (more of a natural pewter look almost).

Personally never liked the gold range fro valljeo. maybe they are all bad pots but they all come out very glittery
the silvers have absolutely no issues though.

Have a look at Scale 75's gold set.

It got quite a mediocre rating in this review:
https://youtu.be/xlHbeNfNPXc
But thanks for the tip! :-) Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry about the delayed response. I've been moving. Anyway, thanks for the tips guys!
So I'm considering these:
Vallejo Brass
Vallejo Gold (model series)
Vallejo Polished gold (supposedly a bright gold color)
In a Youtube-video (don't have the link still) someone swore by using Vallejos AIR metallics even when using brushes, because they flowed much better. What are your thoughts?

You might need to shake your pots more, metals are bad about clumping. Put some fishing weights or similar heavy metal objects in the pots to help agitate the paint and get it to mix better.
The best golds are the Vallejo Liquid Metals, but that stuff is alcohol based and a big pain to work with.

What Elbows and Badablack said
My favorite of all my golds is Vallejo's Old Gold
IMO - get some different ones and see what you like metals are a bit finicky.
Also undercoat them with brown, it helps the coverage and makes them richer.
Use a sepia wash on top and you'll have a beautiful colour.
Anyway my two cents, good luck and happy painting!
