It's an interesting video, obviously, but there are sharks near swimmers all the time. It's just another one of those things where people are really, really bad about understanding risk - those swimmers are statistically in so much more danger from a riptide than they are from a shark.

Its even worse. You would never see a shark do this in Loiuisiana. All the beach goers would immediately dive in to EAT the shark.

Fun fact, more people are killed by Vending machines than Sharks in a year. Statistically, it is Vending Machines we need to watch out for.

The daughter and wife did their scuba update class last night for their trip to the Florida Keys. Alas but it appears my attempts to alert them to the dangers of killer manatees, killer crocodiles, and killer sea snakes, killer Cubans, and killer cute sea turtles appear to have been thwarted by their divemaster, who erroneously gave them information that these perils do not in fact exist.

Of course that doesn't take into account variance from how many people meet up with vending machines to how many people meet up with Sharks.
