Hey all,

I just have a question about the Daemonic Ritual rule Chaos Daemons have. Is there a limit to one ritual, per character, per turn or not? The rules are:

Instead of moving in their Movement phase, any Chaos Character can, at the end of their movement phase, attempt to summon a Daemon unit with this ability by performing a Daemonic Ritual

While it does note you can "attempt to summon A Daemon unit...by performing A Daemonic Ritual", I'm not sure if that is a specific restriction on number of Rituals or just the fact that it is one ritual for one unit.Later on it describes the summoning roll saying "You can summon one new unit...This unit is treated as reinforcements..." but again I'm not sure if that is specific to just the roll or what the Character can do.
I believe the intent of this rule is each Chaos Character can perform a single ritual per Movement Phase but I don't see anything stopping you from doing multiple.

Am I just grasping at straws here or does this make sense? Any input would be appreciated.

You summon ' a daemon unit' which implies singular per character per movement phase

I'm thinking it is just once/turn/character, but yeah, the wording is a bit unclear. Submit it to Yakface's main FAQ thread that he is sending to GW.

Help me, Rhonda. HA!

My group is playing it as multiple. Taking mortal wounds and all the summoned models needing to be within 12" of the summoner is still a large limiting factor.

Yeah, I'm probably reading too much into it. But that is a good idea, I'll throw it up onto that thread.

That's kind of why I'm not totally discounting it. Beyond the Reinforcement points requirement (already quite limiting) you do have those points you make as well.

Thanks for the responses all.

I agree that deamonic rituals have a lot of negatives going for them, But regardless, the rules as they stand are pretty clear that a model can attempt to summon a (singular) unit at the end of its movement phase.

There is no permission granted for them to perform it more than once.

Thanks man, yeah that makes sense. I think I was reading too much into the lack of an outright "You may only do this once per Movement Phase" or similar line.
