So unless I missed something the new rules allow Bastions to fire all four heavy bolters at the same target. You know, even the ones on the opposite side. Did I miss something, or is this actually intentional?

Yeah that's fine. To invent a fluff reason, maybe the cogitators can double the processing power if they only fire half the guns. That would make you get double the hits.

Fire arcs are gone in 8th, sadly. Just wait, it gets sadder, you get to measure all your hb's from the "hull" of the bastion, oh and all you need is a single model in range and los to apply wounds to a whole unit... so ya, an improvement we're told heh.

Can units still man the weapons? I was reading the gun emplacemebt rule for the aegis defemce line and it seemed like it couldnt be manned but having a model in 1" let you pick target units instead of just closest.

Comedy is having two Valkyries charging two separate Bastions, then atrempting to hit them. Cadia was an inside job, since promethium can't melt steel beams.

The way it works now is they have a BS (generally 5) if they are not manned they have to shoot the closest target

If they are manned you can pick what they shoot at.

yes firearcs are gone, you need los from any part of the model, same applies to a baneblade, who can now fire its weapons if its behind a wall and the only los you can draw from is the bottom bit of the left track

Valkyries can't charge; it's one of their rules - general to all most flying units.

But I know what you meant. :p

Valkyries have Hover Jet, which lets you ignore the Airborne rule for a turn. So yes they can in fact charge. Never forget

They can, they have hover jets which you can trigger to loose the airborne rule that stops them charging

Just imagine the Bastion spinning at full speed shooting at everything with this music as background...

it's certainly a little less realistic, but on the other hand it does mean an end to silly rules arguments, and To be honest unless the rules are being written with the mini disticntly in mind and balancing with the mini design in mind, then it's not nesscarily that great to base things from weapons yadda yadda ya. consider IK melta guns in 7th edition

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Open topped vehicles have always worked this way.

You habe been able to fire shootas from the front wheel of a trukk for the last three editions.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
