Quick question on list building and also BattleScribe.

So based on the wording of building lists in the rule book, as long as my detachment has a common key word, such as imperium, its legit. So for example a Watch Master and an Inquisitor to fill at the required 2 HQ's for a detachment. Right?

In BattleScribe, it seems you have to make each detachment all 1 army type(like deathwatch in its own, Inquisition in its own). Is this just a quirk of the tool or am I doing it wrong?

Make one detachment with one faction. When you want to add another faction to that detachment, select it as the "parent."

Example:

Set up an AM Brigade.
To add Vindicare Assassin, select Ordo Assassinorum Brigade and choose "AM Brigade" as the parent.

They will show up as two different detachments but will share points/limitations.

ETA: I am adding a screenshot of what I am talking about since everyone found it helpful. You just choose the appropriate parent detachment, in my case an AM Brigade.

Yeah, I was wondering about this too. Now I know how to make a list where Guilliman runs with my Dark Angels.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
