Any sources for not-kasrkin models?

I want to make myself some Scions. That's probably something every Imperium player is saying right now, but what I actually MEAN is that I want some Kasrkin, so that they match the Stormtroopers I was playing with before they got cool.

Does anyone have a source of miniatures that have that same look, or at least something close?

Closest you are going to get is the FW cadian hostile eviroment suit upgrades on cadian legs.

well thats my plan anyway. i got like 30 kasrkins my self.

Yeah, I was just looking at those. I already have plenty of hellgunners. 20 bucks for three plasma guns is going to get harsh on the pocketbook though. Still a better deal I think for what I really need than the start collecting scion box is. At least, per plasma gun.

You could just use the infantry upgrade and use the normal cadian special weapons in plastic.

Went in for 3 of the plasma squads. I've got enough Cadian pieces laying around to make up any other upgrades I need.

I guess I'll have to start practicing sculpting some kneepads and gloves.

You can also add the upgrade box to a scion squad

I have about 30 Kasrkin but none toting meltas. I've been thinking about these hazardous environment cats with regular Cadian torsos on Scion legs? I bet that will look very similar.

Pads aren't too hard, gloves don't really need anything other than paint either. Just make sure you work on something before working on your fancy stormtroopers

It can look alright, but you'll need to put in a little crafting love for a result that doesn't look weird, armor around the waist, etc.

That's a good catch! I'm still not very good with green stuff sculpting so I was trying to avoid that! Still, it may end up being cheaper than the ~$20 per melta kasrkin on eBay. When you can actually find one.

I would think, if anything 3rd party, these may be the best match. Heck, I considered them long and hard before I won some solid Kasrkin lots on Ebay a while ago.

Out of interest though, does anyone know of any cheaper figures that could stand in for Kasrkin/Stormtroopers?

I've actually got some of those pig iron heads. They're pretty nice, but I already use them to indicate my veterans, so I didn't want to try to bash together a stormtrooper from that.

Here is my WiP of my first guys. I am currently practicing sculpting the hip armor in the Kasrkin style. I think once I add that and pouches/knives/canteens etc they will look really nice.

I just don't like the style of the temptestus minis. I've got mine with Cadian arms and legs, and kneepads sculpted on.
