Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

Hey, a buddy of mine is building an entire list off of 1st turn charge shenanigans using St. Celestine, and acts of faith to make it nothing short of a certainty.
Figured i'd whip up a listing that should tackle such lists adequately, regardless of the faction, at low points.

I'd mention I am totally out of practice from list building. I took most of 7th ed off, rules were too convoluted for my taste.

Patrol Detachment 55 PL -1000 points

Arankyr - 167

x10 Warriors - 120
x10 Warriors - 120

C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer
Antimatter Meteor - 230pts

x7 Lychguard w/ Sword and Board - 259

x8 Scarab Swarms - 104

Alternatively, I could use Lychguard or Triarch Praetorians in place of the wraiths, for roughly the same points.
Considering the lists I am imagining lack most shooting, and assault units are so fast, I wanted to ensure I had an adequate assault presence so I don't have to camp at the back of my deployment zone in order to give myself a chance of not getting charged turn 1.

In this version, I could use scarabs to screen my valuable units and absorb a first turn charge, and then choose which of my enemy's units I counter charge and annihilate on my turn.

If you know opponent and he want charge in first turn you can take anrakyr and cc infrantry. Its our best counter charge combo. Lychguard with warscyte for big cc model and flayed ones for hords.
Alternative you can ran out from the table - take night scyte and put army in tomb world plus flayed ones or dethmarks for deep strike. Deciver also give you chance to redeploy and run from 1 turn mell fight.
Wraiths arent good in 8. Less ap atack inflict lose with big cc model. 3++ wasnt as good as it was in 7 because most army have same mortal wounds. And you cant boost it like in the past.

You need 3 Troops and 2 HQs minimum if take a Battalion Detachment. You will need to take a Patrol Detachment which is 1 Troops and 1 HQ minimum but you lose out on an extra 3CP.

Considering in this case, we're looking as Celestine and Celestians, with power weapons, I'm thinking sword and board lychguard are the way to go. Thoughts?

I've made a few updates to the list, removed a few Lychguard to add scarab swarms as a screening unit.

Still Anrakyr are better choice for hq slot.
Destroyer lord are better only for destroyers support.
Anrakyr aura give +1 A to lychguard, warriors and himself.

@Kuguar6

Fair point.

What can I cut to afford it? Scarabs?

I've gone ahead and added Arankyr, and removed a scarab base to afford it. Nice addition!
