Mission: The Relic
Spearhead Assault deployment
Chaos deploy first. Start from troops and put them away.
Necrons start from troops also but put it in spear close to relict.
Ahriman go middle with Screamers and Flamers. Hellbrute also middle with cover.
Necrons Characters go into silver tide middle - 2" from front. Give him possibility to heroic intervention.
Chaos put Spawn and Deamon in spear and put terminators in teleportarium chamber.
Necron put stalker behind silver tide and DDA next to stalker.

Necrons roll to seize the initiative and won. Chaos plan to charge with Spawn, Terminator and deamon prince, engage my tide into battle and grab relict by second line.
But necrons seize so they shoot first. In first turn kill Spawn (tesla immo), 6W Daemon(gauss immo), and kill hellbrute(Stalker, Szeras and DDA). Nice start. ~500 pts up.
Chaos take another misstake and charge only Terminators and 2W Daemon - rest army are in 24"-48" range. Smites and Terminators kill 10 tesla immo and make me cry but my heroic intervention Chars kill 4 of them(yeah!) and next in my turn. So next plus 267 pts for 170 pts. Necrons +100. Daemon charge 6 gauss immo and kill 3 and take one wound from overwatch.

Second turn immo flat out from daemon. Rest kill some rubric marines from 24" with Stalkers and 10 tesla MVBD. Tide get 5" move. Anrakyr and Szeras kill last terminator. DDA gauss array kill daemon and some rubric with dc.
In this turn i have some weird situation. Nightbringer cannot shoot into terminator because they are lock in combat and cannot shoot into Deamon becouse terminator are closest visible enemy. I think this rule are the worst part od edition 8...

Second chaos turn was very chaos they kill some immo from all 3 unit - 6 from unit of 7. Screamers charge immo - next heroic intervention with all chars and all Screamers die in this turn. Rubric marines shoot from 24". Smite. Cultists autogan get 1 or two immo. Flamers take Relict but was close to my tide.

In third i kill all rubric marines - stalker + DDA. Kill flamers - immo. Kill Ahriman - Nightbringer + Szeras. Charge Cultists with Anrakyr and kill some of them. My chars leave immo behind.
In third all Cultists try to wound Anrakyr and do nothing. He kill some in counter. Nightbringer counter too - he consolidate cultist after kill Ahriman.

In 4 turn we end - i dont whant roll for RP and moving to kill less then 10 cultists so i surrender and chaos win :p
Necrons lost only 1 unit of immo.

My plan check up very well but chaos player help me too. In each turn almost all my unit hit and it is clue of victory. Oposite opponent put 1/3 his army into fight in all turn so cannot stand my fire.
My heroic intervention chars wound well and guard immo well. I only thing that my immo take some aditional atack from Anrakyr aura but they die before counter so cannot do many dmg. In 2000 pts i want take 5 warscyte lychguar for even better counter atack. DDA dont do many dmg with only doomsday cannon. Not worth 200 pts. He must use his array to pay for his place - hard to do it if opponent dont want charge ark.

I think Anrakyr are worth 55 more pts then overlord. Better profile (+1 S +1 W) and +1 A from aura give him better punch. He also have pack of usefull ability: Techyon arrow, +1 A, mind in the machin and dynasty free MWBD.

Tchnicaly chaos win with 10 cultis remain only because my opponent dont agree to finish the game faster.

Love med some Necron reports. Sad to hear about your experience with the DDA. I gues you have to have some lucky rolls for it to contribute. There is always the fear factor it gives which may contribute in some way.
