Battalion (+3CP):
Big Mek on Bike, kff, big choppa 110
Big Mek, kff, grot oiler 79
Weirdboy, da jump 62
30 shoota boyz (1 is nob with big choppa) 189
30 shoota boyz (1 is nob with big choppa) 189
30 shoota boyz (1 is nob with big choppa) 189
Spearhead (+1CP):
Ghazghkull 215
18 slugga/choppa boyz (1 is nob with big choppa) 117
Battlewagon, 'ard case, deff rolla 180
gorkanaut 364
2 deff dreads with 2 klaw and 2 skorcha (153 each) 306
Been enjoying using my killa kans as deff dreads for testing stuff, they don't suffer from morale and can actually hit things in close combat. skorchas offset the low bs and firing them after advancing feels great.
Planning to use this list in an upcoming tournament if my gorkanaut is finished in time. ghaz rides in wagon with slugga/choppa boyz with force field bike mek following, weirdboy jumps a unit of shootas somewhere every turn, gorkanaut and dreads advance trying to stay in one of the force field bubbles. not really that hard to play and is rather annoying for most opponents to deal with unless they fire everything at the gorkanaut turn 1. Any suggestions appreciated

It was a very close victory for the Orks against Farsight Tau. The key points of the match were the gorkanaut taking 6 damage from 1 fusion blaster stealth suit in overwatch, killing it lol; Ghaz dealing 12 damage to the stormsurge after a deff dread dealt 9; ghaz losing his last wound to 6 pathfinders that charged him from a nearby ruins.
Very fun list--wish the naut lived a bit longer though. I made the mistake of moving it before moving the big mek behind it so it got out of kff range the turn it charged the suits. It was a good magnet for all the crisis deep strike fusion teams and 2 commanders which were swiftly dealt with in the following turn by 30 shoota boyz and the weirdboy getting 11 on his smite cast to deal 4 mortal wounds to the warlord commander.
The game was No Mercy (basically purge the alien) with the triangular hammer and anvil deployment. My opponent had many small units of drones/pathfinders that were easy to pick off with my 2 units of boyz that were ' Da' Jumped ' to rack up points quickly, as well as first blood. If he had positioned his crisis team and commanders less aggressively he could have killed more boyz before they got to close combat but he wanted the half range for his fusions vs the 'naut.

Why not morkanaut w kff?
Why ard case and no rolla?
Have always preferred shootas to sluggas. Good on you for including them.
Were you surprised at the durability of the dorkanaut? What did you think of Stormsurge performance?

You know it is a fun game, when tau decides to charge Ghaz. Gratz on the victory, No Mercy can be tough on Orks.

Out of curiosity why put the nob with a big choppa in there? For a bit more points (still less than a pk) you can add a kombi-weapon to the nob and have the whole unit focus on shooting.
I'm interested how the dread plays out, I have one sitting unpainted that I'm looking to test out my airbrush on.

Sorry everyone, I tried to post last night but my phone was being dumb.
The wagon had a rolla too.
I prefer the gorkanaut for the extra attacks in close cambat, i was already bringing 2 big meks with kff so I figured it would be redundant. I should have deployed the naut near the dreads and wagon so the biker could keep up. The mek on foot was too slow.
I always plan on charging my boyz--the shootas are just so I have something to do while going up the board. The big choppa did a lot of damage to a 4 burst cannon crisis commander turn 2, plus I don't have any nobz modeled with kombi stuff. I jump the blob, shoot something easy to kill for first blood (drones in this case) then charge something else. It's better vs space marines since they don't have supporting overwatch to whittle me down.
The stormsurge was annoying every turn, but once it fired the destroyer missiles it was really only a threat to my boyz unless it focussed all weapons on a dread. It was surprisingly easy to take down in close combat, even with the 20 wounds.
The dreads did well but I can see them being not so great of your opponent has lots of lascannons, but then again you can jump some boyz over to try and deal with that. 2 skorchas to remove the bubble wrap fire warriors/drones, 2 klaws to kill the stormsurge or go after his characters. I plan on getting the deff dread kit so I don't have to proxy killa kans as dreads anymore. I have I haven't played against another close combat focused army yet so there could be some flaws. I think if the naut didn't go down do overwatch I would have had a crushing victory instead of a close one.

Have you thought at all about mixed slugga / choppa units? You could put some slugga boyz up front and if it looks like your opponent is fixing to get into close combat they'd be a pretty big asset. If not you could pull them first for wounds. Either way I think it gives your unit a little more flexibility. I actually like the big choppa. You'll want something in there with some toughness in case you get charged by a monstrous creature or character. Having attacks with some additional strength should go a long way.

What kind of split do you recommend? 10 choppa, 20 shoota; or 15 each? I didn't realize 8th edition let boyz split weapons.

I'm late here, but I would think 8-10 shoota boyz sitting in the back of your formation could shoot a bit as they move up the field. And since they're assault - they can shoot after advancing. And you can pull them first for wounds.
