I'm currently working out the theme of my Ork army, and I've come to a crossroads. I'm a big lore enthusiast with most games, and I just want my concept to be plausible in the universe. I know technically most things are possible and I can paint them hot pink with rainbow Gobs and it'd be fine, but I want something more intertwined with the lore. I was thinking of making a suicide squad of sorts, a group of brutal Blood Axes who are funded by the Bad Moonz, a personal kill squad to do the more dangerous and reckless missions the Moonz don't want to or can't deal with. The idea was to use both the more rusted scrap yard look with pieces of newer more elaborate black and yellow gear supplied by BMZ. I'm just trying to figure out if that would even be plausible with Ork culture.

Orks in blue and red hotpants? Go for it!

Seriously though a Dirty Dozen (can Orks count that high?) or Orkglorious Basterds theme could be cool. If you can find em, if you got the teef, maybe you can hire the Eh? team
.

Take a look at what I've been painting and modelling: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/725222.page

Entirely plausible that Bad Moons would hire out a Blood Axes mob as deniable operators to sabotage a rival that they couldn't overtly murder.

Heck, it would make real Ork business sense, if they sold a load of gubbinz to another tribe, and hired the Blood Axes to wreck the gubbinz. The victims would have to buy it all again off them!

Why, that's good ork business sense.

I ordered a really awesome flashy warboss head for the Grukk model with the squig. Cuz he's gonna be the blood axe with the most gear from bad Moonz. Keep the vehicles all BMZ, with patchwork on the body cuz da Bad Moonz no got no warranty.

Sounds absolutely fine fluffwise.

On a personal note ive been doing pretty much exactly the same thing with my Urty Duzen (though being orks, there is in fact only 10 of them)

What kind of camo colors are you using? I'd suggest black/white/grey urban camo as it would look good with the splashes of yellow from the Bad Moonz gear.

That's what I was thinking. With slight red accents here and there, and use more of a hazard stripe design instead of the checkerboard. Give them like a Deathwatch vibe, but Orky. Lots of battle wear. I want to make a custom emblem that incorporates the moon with the blood axe skull but I'm not sure how id implement it model wise.

That;s a plan worthy of the most kunnin' of Bad Moon Warbosses. Every ork knows that the Blood Axes are gits who can't be trusted--working with humies, 'retreatin' and the like.

If they succeed, the Bad Moons take the credit. If they fail, you just claim the Blood Axes were working with the Imperials.

Just for nostalgia, you should make sure to model one of the Orks with one of the classic Doc's Surprize: the Exploding Cranium. If the one who knows the whole plan starts flapping his gob--BOOM!

So I've been listing out some name ideas for the army. Lemme know what ya think

Bad Tuskz
Gitz Sqwad
Ingorkious Basterdz
The Gitzyu Force (Fowce? I dunno if Orks say force weird)
Da Skrap Howndz
Dakka Team Gitz

Feel free to leave ideas of your own. Knowing me, the name will take easily 2 weeks to decide on.

Actually Orks do have a word for more than 5. Its Lotz
The highest an Ork can count is 5, not 10, as per the 4th ed codex.

Damn, my relief at not seeing an Ork in pigtails and hot pants is ruined by the realization that I must now at some point do A-team themed Kommandos.

Damn you, DAKKA!

If Orks made espionage movies or games, it'd be stuff like Oceans Five, 005, or Rainbow Five Siege
