I didn't post this in the list building forum because it states that those lists are looking for feedback, I simply wanted to give people an idea of the absolute cheapest brigades you could field so that you might pick and choose units and build a larger list off of that to gain the most CP (This is why I figured tactics might be a good place) This isn't me looking for feedback but offering a perspective for everyone out there.

I see a lot of people making this mistake with Renegades and Heretics: you cannot take individual Rogue Psyker Coven models they must come in 5, so the cheapest HQ you can take is Renegade Commander's for 25 points each. Your troop choice should also be Renegade Militia or Renegade Mutant Rabble because they are cheaper than either Cultist option by 10 points per min squad. Other than that the rest is all correct.

I don't have the renegades index was just going off of Battlescribe for their list and according to them it comes at 5x Rogue Psykers for either 3 PL or 20points, is that still incorrect? I marked everything by minimum units instead of 6 squads of three rippers etc etc.

I stand corrected on the rabble or the militia squad though I missed over that (lots of numbers lol thank you for that one) Correcting the rabble/militia now

Looking at the chaos that's pretty nuts though, in a regular game (Lets say 2000 points) you could field 2-3 of that brigade and use the remaining to actually flesh out a few upgrades or pick up a tank or something. Thats 21-29ish command points....

It amuses me that the Necron one costs about 2-3 times as much as the ones for other armies.

Yeah I hadn't realized just how little their selection is all around compared to other armies. Making these lists was a bit of an eye opener for sure. Honestly never expected the Imperium or Chaos ones to be that ridiculously cheap either, I really thought my tyranids would have an advantage but nopers

I think part of it is that the Imperium basically has 10+ codices to pick from - including ones like IG. Chaos doesn't have that many, but it still has a few.

Necrons only have 1 codex to pick models from and it's an expensive one.

Almost the entire Imperium one comes from the Astra Militarum sections, only the cyber wolves and the cenobyte servitors come from elsewhere so you figure maybe another 40ish points for an all IG equivalent. The Marine one is the second most expensive I believe and without the servitors it would still be 300 less I believe than the necrons.

And Daemons outside of chaos are pretty expensive, I got 54 PL/1032 Points for an unaligned daemon army using Herald of Khorne, Nurglings, Beasts of Nurgle, Furies and Seeker Chariots

Thanks Loopstah Just fixed that.

@Captyn_Bob What is allowing you to take Brimstone Horrors as a troop? Going off of battlescribe on the Chaos one so I just want to know before I correct it above

Use the chaos index rather than battlescribe.

You pick horrors of either of the 3 types when buildong the unit. Battlescribe defaults to pinks, but you can swap them for brimstones

If I had it I would lol thats why I had to ask, only things I'm missing are the chaos related stuff so it was harder for me to find the right answers

You have HWT with lasguns? They must take a heavy weapon so the cheapest is Mortars which makes them 27pts for one team, so three would be 81pts.

The Harlequin one comes to 1462 points, I believe.

3 Troupe Masters
6 x 5 Troupes
3 Death Jesters
3 x 2 Skyweavers
3 Voidweavers

I wonder if this is the most expensive one of them all.

I haven't played much against Harlequins how competitive would it be to bring those units?

Most lists acutally use most of that stuff. Maybe not deathjesters, and you'd want transports for all the troupes with fusion guns, but most lists have that base.

Ouchies thats gonna hurt from what I've heard of them then. Expect we'll be seeing more on the tournie circuit

Not very, IMO. You want all your Players tooled up somehow, with either a melee or pistol or upgrade (adding 30-45 points to the unit's cost usually), and you also want them in a transport (99 points apiece), which simply isn't affordable in that list at any kind of regular tourney point cost.

Page 242 – Understrength Units
Change the second paragraph to read:
‘If you are using Power Ratings, you must still pay the
Power Rating cost as if you had a minimum-sized unit,
even though it contains fewer models. If you are using
points, you only pay the points for the models you
actually have in an understrength unit (and any wargear
they are equipped with). An understrength unit still
takes up the appropriate slot in a Detachment.’

So yeah, this really changes things..

As a person with a bunch of models that could previously be fielded in one man squads I still find this ruling disappointed and really don't expect any TO to be chill with it being abused. The designers notes gives a dirty look at people messing with what was intended (Hive fleets and space Marines being <Eldar> for their fleet/chapter to get around rules. Not gonna lie though maybe hive fleet <warriors> with a couple primes would have been funny -.-
