Been happily painting my way through the box set and came to glueing on the jump pack guys to the stands :(. The connection point is awful already came off once has any one came up with a nice hack for this?

What was wrong with good old ball and socket joints .

I don't have the box but seen loads of people struggle with it.
Probably use green stuff

At first I was all: oh, just assemble the Interceptors and place the base under a pack of cigarettes with the marines "standing" on the box to support their position.

Then I took mine outside to prime them with spray and a gust of wind knocked them onto my deck snapping the connection points; like a week after gluing.

I used testors plastic cement as well.

The only option I can see now(and if I ever get more of them I will try this) is to glue the bottom of the jump pack to the stem before gluing it to the rest of the model(and allow the cement to fully cure). I might also try Testors Clear Plastic cement(made for gluing clear canopys to plane models)

For my current I am going to go with another tried and true method: Cut the stem tip into a spike and drill into the model peg-and-hole style.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Maybe use superglue, it might break at the connection but then you could always just glue it back.

Only issue is superglue has clouded the clear plastic white in some of my past models...particularly battlefleet gothic flight stands.

The hell with the flight stands - I'm modding mine to wire and magnets.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

I always spray my bases/stands black. It's just easier.

I used superglue, then after it set, did a ring around the connection point with some more. I put it in front of a fan after gluing for a few minutes and that kept it from fogging the stem.
