I love the nobz models and really want to use them, but I just can't seem to see why I would use them in 8th edition when meganobz are about 8 points more and come with power klaw, 2+ save, 3 wounds and for basically sacrificing one inch move per turn. I mean giving a nob a big choppa makes them almost as expensive. What are your all thoughts and have you had an experience with either? Any arguments on why to choose nobz over meganobz? Also how are nob bikers this edition? I know that's random and off topic to add but I'm about to make a unit of them and just seeing if they are worth it.

I think you still pay points for the weapons they come with.
So meganobz is 25pts and then you pay 25 for the claw, plus 4 for kustom shoota.

...this is why the points system isn't the best for balance. You pay a ton of points for weapons and then the models dies on turn 1.
Power level has the opposite problem. Why not take everything?

A meganob is 54 points base compared to 17 for a nob. Meganobz are more than 3x the price of a nob.

Oh ok. I'll have to look that up but I thought they came with klaws and kustom shootas as a standard mega nob. If that's not the case it makes much more sense for the point values

The weapons do come on it as standard but in 8th you have to pay for every weapon, not just weapon upgrades. For example for eldar a dark reaper is only 5 points base but his standard gun is priced at 31 points making him a reasonable 36 points. It's like this because some weapons are available to characters as upgrades too and it means that a weapon will always cost the same no matter what you are buying it for or what weapon it is replacing.

If you want to take p.klaws go with meganobz. They have 3 wounds, a 2+ armour and 4 S4 shots, a unit of three can divide a trukk with a unit of 5 tankbustas and a bomb squig.

Nobz with p.klaws are extremely expensive and just for a few points more you can take meganobz instead.

However, nobz with big choppas are quite deadly and reasonably cheap, less than half the cost of a single meganob. Among all options available I think a unit of 5-6 nobz with big choppas is the best.

Never been a fan of nobz bikers, they cost too much and they're fast, sure, but without a transport they're too fragile. With pks they become a huge point sink.

by the way... nobz have basically 3 wounds too...

for every nob you can take an ammo runt. just use em as ablative wounds. so you need to put at least 7 wounds on a unit of 5 nobz to kill the first nob (keep in mind that normally multiple wounds dont spill over)

an yes they are really cheap. 5 nobz (1 pc, 2 bc, 2 stabbaz) with 5 runts cost little over 150 points and dish out 3xs10 -3ap 6xs7 -1ap and 6xs6 -2ap attacks.
