What's the most competitive Way to run a forgefiend if at all? I just bought a box looking to run it competitively

Both Maulerfiend loadouts are good, but it depends what you're trying to kit it out for.

Im not a huge fan of the forgefiend since he becomes useless when he takes too much damage (Bs goes down to 6+). and he cant move without making that worst (heavy weapons). Due to his lack of mobility I'd go for autocannons over ectoplasma cannon for the longer range and I would make sure to take it in a list with a lot of shooting to make the opponent come to me so as to avoid requiring the forgefiend to move. He looks big and scary and is quite tough with his 12W, 7T, 3+, 5++ and infernal regeration so he can keep a lot of firepower aimed at him which has its use. I dont know, could be a lot of fun but I doubt he will be a competitive option. if I want a distraction dinobot the Heldrake is more compelling in forcing the opponent to deal with him.

I still swear by Magna Cutters but if you'd rather get more attacks against the Terminators then go for Lashs.

Magma Cutters are better in theory than in practice, I think. The stat line looks really good but my experiences have been that you basically never get an opportunity to use them because of the short range.

They're still used in melee because pistols.

You'll get to use the pistol on turn 3 (move, move+charge, turn 3 shooting phase) at the earliest, and with screening units as a factor there's no guarantee that that will go on the target you want a S8 weapon shooting at. The lasher tendrils on the other hand can help rip through those screening units and are useful the turn you get into combat.

This is naturally the most important argument in the lashers' favor.
