Subject: Nids players... how do you transport your Nids from home to where you play?

I've had a 'Nids army for about two years now, and with only the addition of a Start Collecting box, I've finally finished painting them all and am ready to start taking them to my local GW shop to play.
Right now, I have the Citadel Crusade case, so Termagants, Hormagaunts, and Zoanthropes aren't a problem at all. They fit very well in that case. What I'm having trouble with is... how to transport Monsters (what used to be Monstrous Creatures pre-8th) like Hive Tyrants, Flyrants, Tervigons, and Carnifexes as well as more unwieldy models like Gargoyles, Shrikes, and Warriors to a point. Right now, I have a couple of big expenses coming up (like replacing all four tires on my car), so going all in on a $300 custom cut Battlefoam case is a bit out of the question. Do any of the rest of you have some other good ideas on how to transport your Nids from home to your local gaming store? Please keep in mind, this isn't like a plane flight or anything... just a few mile drive from home to my local gaming shop and a way to keep my models safe between my house and my car, during the ride, and from the parking lot into the shop.
Thanks in advance.

Magnetised. All the big creatures with a lot of wings and stuff all work best being magnetised. A-CASE is what I've bought for some parts of my army But just boxes with a metal plate at the bottom are fantastic if you just have a handful of bigger models.

I feel you mate, Nids are a pain transporting.. especially big delicate metal models suck ( i still have fexes, winged tyrants and other stuff of metal including a selfmade exocrine which weights like 1 kg)
I use big custom foams for the metal stuff and for the newer plastic models i really just throw em into a bigger cheap foam box, gaunts and other little to medium creepers are sturdy enough and i dont have the patience putting every single gaunt in and out of custom foam everytime i play.
Transporting then everything in a bagpack from feldherr.com . I bet you can find something similar outside of germany...
@purifier
this.. is.. just .. awesome

My buddy tosses all his nids in a big box. Just tosses them all in together in one giant pile.
They surprisingly stay in one piece most of the time.

us.battlefoam.com I've been using their products for almost a decade and they're amazing. If your FLGS can order trays or has them in stock get them there. The shipping they charge on their site is BRUTAL.

I have one plastic bin that I use, and I separate the units by ziplock baggies. They all get piled into their bags with the rest of their unit. Makes for easy sorting, quick packing and unpacking. I've only ever had 2 casualties, both already weak plastic hormagaunts snapped off their bases. No paint issues, no other breaks.

Yep, just a big plastic container. ....should be around 10$ depending on your location. If its a ton of money then the store is just ripping you off, so go to competitor.
Home Depot is where I got mine.
The models rattle around a bit but its just in the car. Eventually I'll magnetize.

Snapware container 1$ sheet steel flashing from home depot doublesided tape and a LOT of magnets on the bases and you can easily carry like 200 models in each tub.

I have one of those containers that they use for transporting frozen organs for medical purposes. It's very sturdy, as well as soft. I just throw them in there. Occasionally there will be minor damage, like a gaunt losing an arm, but nothing that can't be fixed in a few minutes.

My 'nids friend chucks them into a three drawer plastic thing - stuff breaks quite a lot.

I don't want the best army, just one that isn't an exercise in picking up my models by turn 3.

If I had 100 + Drukhari kits all in plastic to choose from, or 100 + Sisters kits, I think I'd be more likely to be receptive to Space Marine player's complaints about anything.

For my SAGA figures, the entire base is a magnet as I got the base and magnet both cut the same by litko. Other models, I use 2mm magnets with 1mm depth.
