- Azreal
- Mortis Dreadnought -Twin Lascannon, Twin Lascannon, Cyclone Missile Launcher
- Mortis Dreadnought -Twin Lascannon, Twin Lascannon, Cyclone Missile Launcher
- Mortis Dreadnought -Twin Lascannon, Twin Lascannon, Cyclone Missile Launcher
- Mortis Dreadnought -Twin Lascannon, Twin Lascannon, Cyclone Missile Launcher
- Ravenwing Dark Shroud - Heavy Bolter
That's the parking lot. At full strength, the dreads can do an average of 30 damage to Imperial Knights each turn. If the dreads stay within 6" of both Azreal and the Dark Shroud, they re-roll misses and are protected by 4++ and -1 to shoot. Is that enough to protect this 900 point dreadnought investment?
Then the rest of the detachment screens and goes for objectives:
- Asmodai (6" re-roll Melee misses, +1 Attack, -1 enemy Leadership)
- 5 Company Veterans - 4 with 2 chainswords each, Sergeant with Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield
- Razorback - Twin Assault Cannon, Storm Bolter
- 5 Company Veterans - 4 with 2 chainswords each, Sergeant with Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield
- Razorback - Twin Assault Cannon, Storm Bolter
- 5 Scouts, maybe knives?
- 5 Scouts
- 5 Scouts
- 5 Scouts
I know, this could probably be accomplished better by conscripts or other Imperials. I really wish I could use Fenrisian Wolves or even Death Company. But these Dark Angels at least have a chance at Azreal's bonus bubbles in some missions or in first turns. Maybe combine two of the Scout squads to 10 models to conga line? Or three squads of 6-7?
7 Command Points, 12 Deployment Drops. What do y'all think?
I think this has real potential. Y'all give me credit if something like this does well at a tournament!

I like it, rerolls to hit and the protections will be key but the dread parking lot could work really well. Expect a report and credit will be alotted based on performance.

I don't, simply because I just don't like spam for what it is. Theoryhammer, of what could be powerful? Sure, that's great all day, but when people start fielding this crap that's when fun just goes right out the window. One thing that detracts me the most from just doing open play in stores are lists like these and generally the people who play them. a couple of dreads holding the line? Sure, I'd buy that, but spamming 4? Got a good background story for this?

I like the list, and lets face it no matter what you field or anyone else does, sooner or later someone will call cheese, or hate the list, or says its broken... Its the facts of this atmosphere.
Their is no shame in a competitive list. People might simply not want to play it , and you know that going in. I play in a lot of competitive tourneys. Bring the best you can think of. I saw a guy the other day with 2 drops (3valks and 3 valks), loaded inside was a crazy amount of AG with 40-50 plasma. I didnt think "wow thats cheese", I thought "wow that was awesome".
Just be aware keeping them all close to AZ could cause some explosions. I play 3 decimators near the Changling and a Hellwright, turn 1 I lost 2 of the decimators and both changling and Hellwright from explosions.
Please update when you play this list, and some results!

actually I do! The Angels of Absolution chapter is fond of the Mortis pattern dreadnought, and they worked with Azreal during the Siege of Vraks. I do plan to paint my newer space Marines in that bone-white scheme. In the last edition, the Mortis was ONLY available to Dark Angels and their successors.
