So, I have scoured this forum and Google alike and have come across many answers to the question of stripping Finecast, but many of the answers seem geared toward an older generation of Finecast. My question is does anyone have recent experience stripping Finecast? If so, what did you use and how did it go? I have heard of using Simple Green, but that it is not removing paint as well as it used to. I have heard of using brake fluid, but that is highly toxic to me and the environment. I have heard of using Dawn Power Dissolver, which is what I'm leaning toward, but I'd love some input from anyone with some experience.

Dettol works great for stripping! Unlike like simple green it'll even strip the primer coat. Just leave it in a batch for like 4 hours and you'll be good.

Be careful not to get any water near it until after it dries though. I usually let it soak in some vegetable oil to like.. offset the pine oil in the dettol, than rinse it off with soap and water.

I've done it with finecast before, but just to be sure, let a bit of the sprue from the kit soak in it over night to see how they react together.

Oh btw wear gloves. The paint gunks up and stains like MAD

Don't use brake fluid on resin, or plastic for that matter. It will eat it.

So the Dettol didn't make the Finecast rubbery? That's what I've heard about Dettol.

It was fine when I did it, but once again I do urge you to use a practice chunk first to see for yourself. I left mine in over night.
