my parallel project has stalled due to the doll I was using being made out of such cheep plastic that nothing will stick to it, not glue and not paint.
and with only three weeks to go things are looking tight for a redesign.

Picked up a few of these lotus seed pods at Michael's today, and ordered 1lb of apoxie sculpt to help me make some sides and segmented spikey bits.

Both looking awesome, nice ideas. Lotus pods are a great idea. Statue is nice, how much do you plan on weathering it. Could easily enough be a nice shiny new statue.

Have several ideas still, think I will have to make a start this week.

The seed pod idea is brilliant! Right now I am thinking a multiple different metals approach with fairly heavy weathering, including streaking. We'll see though.

Argh I bought a thingy to start this but been so busy with real life lately!

I was slow getting back into thing after my ski trip but I'm here now and have my new bits.



Sorry for the poor image, if you cant tell it's some insulation foam, cork tile and a glow in the dark snap together dinosaur skeleton I got from the sally's for 50 cents (It probably was so cheap because it doesn't glow or actually stay together. bit disappointed about the lack of glowing as I had high hopes for cool glow in the dark terrain, still means I can fill the horrible gaps and give it a proper paint job without worrying about obscuring the glow effect.

Well, school is now on again, and the kids and me worked on a modular gaming table setup... am I allowed to enter this as well? Percentage of their helpful commitment I'd say was all in all 40%... does this qualify ? If so, I have pics to show...tho working with kids, not that many Wil pics...

two coats of Artist's Course texture gel.
It's basically the same as GW basing texture paint (or any pumice gel) only I can get 2 200ml tubes for the price of one 24ml GW one only comes in white mind you
Brushed on the first coat and stippled on the second to hide any brush strokes.

@dsteingass Sorry to hear we will be missing out on your build but I hope everything is OK in your (undoubtedly soggy) neck of the woods.
