So, I'm a big fan of the Primaris models, so much so that I'm getting a small force of just Primaris stuff, and probably Scions as allies.

How effective have people found this?

Hellblasters and nasa marines are cash money

the tacticals... eh they are ok but with no real transports right now im not 100% feeling it.
neither do hell blasters but while both have 30" range, a plasma still hurts like a truck with a few shots.

It's a bit mediocre right now, mostly because the range just doesn't cover all bases just yet and intercessors are a bit to costly.

That said you can always do what i'm doing and use primaris models to convert everything to primaris size but use classic model rules and bits

I played with such a list.

1x Captain in Gravis armor
1x Primaris Lieutenant
3x Intercessor Squad
2x Hellblaster Squad
2x Inceptor Squad
1x Predator (Twin Lascannon)

vs

1x Techmarine
1x Bjorn
1x Venerable Dread with Blizzard Shield and Axe
1x Venerable Dread with Twin Lascannon and Axe
1x10 Scout Squad with Camo-cloaks and Heavy Bolter
1x5 Scout Squad with Camo-cloaks and Heavy Bolter
1x Stormfang
I forgot what was inside the Stormfang

The Hellblasters, with both HQs nearby, were, well, a blast! They removed stuff they had their sights on pretty easily, especially when overcharging.

The Inceptors didn't do that well vs the cover-grabbing units, but managed to stop his Lascannon dread from firing at my Hellblasters or Predator.

The Intercessors dealt 3 to 4 wounds on the Stormfang in one turn. AP-1 really helps S4.

I snagged some primaris too just because they're cheap and I love the models. They do seem like they need some sort of heavy weapon platform like a pred tank or ad Mech dune crawlers.
Also those scions would really fill their mobility issue.

So far I've found that the main killing power in an All-Primaris army comes from my Ten Hellblasters and Guilliman's fun-bubble.

Though technically not a Primaris himself, Guilliman is the king of the Guillimarines.

The goal of the Intercessors in my lists are to attract fire, tie up enemy units or capture objectives while the Hellblasters and Guilliman go around murdering everything. Taking out any tank on the board, one per turn, reliably is pretty strong. Only opposition Hellblasters will run in to are Wave Serpents or tanks with invuln saves.

My goal is to make the Hellblasters seem like they're not the most dangerous thing on the board, so they're nor focused on.

The army isn't even close to finished/flesh out...so in the future it will be fine (and will be the premier Space Marine army).

yeah, right now we're lacking a few important sets of rules that'll really play into things.

1: Vehicles/delivery mechanisms. right now a Primaris army are all footsloggers and that's a big limiter
2: Heavy support, thus far we do not have the dreadnought, repulsor tank or agressors whichmean primaris armies lack any real tank/MC crackers. once the line is fleshed out I suspect an all Primaris army will be quite viable

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
