So, a friend and I are starting to get into Necromunda, and I'm building my own gang (I can't stand how most of the models look). Since I quite like the greatcoat look, I picked up a few Skitari Ranger torsos to play with. But I've found that the Catachan legs I had lying around won't fit.

Whoops.

Even more annoyingly, none of my bits boxes contain any legs bar some Tau firewarriors...which also don't fit.

So, Dakka, do any legs fit? Or will my dreams of long coats flapping in the breeze be dashed and I'll have to go get other torsos instead? Feel free to suggest non-GW parts - it's not like these models will ever see the inside of a store, and I'm already using some lovely heads from Statueseque Miniatures (yes, my gang will have...girls in it. And not be Escher).

I'm about to try fitting them to chaos cultist legs. I'll keep you informed.

Unfortunately, the Skitarii torsos and legs are mated pairs. For variety, I went with Victoria Miniatures Greatcoat legs and Dress Uniform torsos, coupled with Skitarii heads and arms. Required a bit of modification to fit the arms and heads, and at some point I'll get back to these (still need to green stuff the arm/torso joins), but this should give you a good idea of the look:

Looking at it possibly IG Scion legs.

That sounds like it has potential.

Victoria and Anvil Industry's are pretty much my backup plan.

I suspect they'll also be a bit too wide, but I very much appreciate you trying.

I'm also considering getting some Empire State Troop torsos and watching them get into a little accident with the 'Saw a Person in Half trick' to plunder their legs. I've got a razor saw for a reason, after all.

I don't think scion parts will work. I have both and they're a bit heftier than skitarii.

Unfortunately I feel that the torso is probably the most awkward part in the kit for conversion. Have you considered trying to find their matching legs?
If you're willing to change plans, these look pretty cool:

Yeah, I realize now it's gonna be a pain in the ass. But the mental image is a Gang in overcoats (Sorta like Delaque, only without the whole shirtless thing) rather than being actual Mechanicus units. But that is a really cool looking model...it's just too military for a Necromunda gang.

I am considering buying some legs as well and converting them to look more human with some greenstuff, yeah.

After trying unfortunately not. The great coats make it nearly impossible to find compatible parts.

My only other thought would to be cut the legs at the knee and attach part a leg, or to file down the existing legs and greenstuff them into trousers.

Sorry mate.

No worries, thanks for taking a peek. That does look like what I'll be doing.

Sorry I couldn't get it to work.

Also is your name an MaoS referance or is it a coincidence?

It's my real name. I have no idea what MaoS stands for, although I will say that the Jonathan Garrett in WarCraft is a friend's revenge on me.

Oh well I guess that works.
MaoS is Marvels Agents Of Shield a failing Marvel studio ABC tv show and Garret is the antagonist of the first season.

Stuck in the snow.

Well, today must be your lucky day because these were just released by Mad Robot Miniatures:

Pictures of them with other guardsman sized bits are also in the news thread:

Oh yes, I forgot about that show. No, I think I've even been on these forums longer than the show has been around, but mostly it's just my real name.
