I had a look in the brand new SM codex and i found a basic Lieutenant. Not a Primaris Lieutenant! Both are on the same page.
Anyone knows if its going to be a new modell for this unit?

I am of the opinion the entry only exists to preempt backlash against replacing oldMarines with nuMarines.

Gathering the Informations.

They show you some Lieutenants in the book, they used the old Commander box.

Gives me an excuse to use a bunch of my old metal limited edition models.

Not likely, just use a captain or sarge model or some other commander.

And you should use Lts too, btw. Their aura works so well with the captain's aura.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Where ever the Emperor needs his eyes

Considering the Old Marine Lt is pretty much just a Force Commander, you should just be able to use a Captain Model.

Is it an HQ?

If so, that's a good way to represent the expanded space marine command structure in the HQ-heavy 8th Ed force organization.

it is, honestly a space marine company can deploy a fair number of command officers pretty easily now, 1 captain 2 lts a chaplain and a Libby. that'd be eneugh to fill up a battalion and a supreme command deatchment

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Gives me an excuse to field my actual RT lieutenant! He took the field tonight with his actual rank, so proud of the guy.

Didn’t help my dice being ice cold and getting tabled, but I enjoyed fielding him.

Stupid malicious dice. “I hit with all 4 krack missiles, wounding on 3+, re-rolling ones. 2 2 2 5. <grumble>

It was supposed to be a friendly narrative game, so I was seeing how my TML/HB speeders would do. Poor dice aside, they functioned OK. I think they are seriously overpriced, but wanted to see on the table.

And in general, I think MLs are OK in 8th. At least less bad they they have been in years. But that’s getting a bit far from the topic.

Both my opponent and myself were using LTs. It was a small game, so the auras weren’t covering a lot of units, but the re-rolls got a decent workout.

Lieutenants are useful although I prefer the Wolf Guard Battle Leader as they have the same rules but WS2+. Particularly good if a unit already has a reroll to hit from another source.

Yeah, this is cool; allows some more HQs without things like doubling-up on Captains, which upsets me a bit on a fluffy level. Hope similar happens with other armies, would particularly like the RT-era Ork Bigboss/Clanboss designation to come back; not into the idea of multiple warbosses.

I agre. LTs is a nice touch ans i will use them. I find SM much more fun with 8th edition. I have more or less sold off the whole Astra army. I only kept my Tempestus.
