The reason I started this thread is because of something I found while searching through one of my father's old ork bitz boxes. It was a first or second edition metal ork model holding (what I assume to be) an old Waaagh! banner (from back in the days when GW used paper for banners, flags etc). This got me wondering if any of you guys have found, bought or even still own some of the old 40k models. If you do, please post some pics up here because I'm sure I and many others would love to see!

You might want to peruse this thread: Flashback Friday. I should probably dig something up to post there before it gets old enough to qualify for a necro.

And just so I’m not just posting links in a pic thread:

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I have two of the old (1st or 2nd ed, I can never remember) Noise Marines wielding guitars, one is painted up (rather uninspired paint job really) and the other is based but not painted I think. I'd have to search for them to take some pics...

I also have quite a bit of the old Gorka Morka stuff and mono-pose Ork boyz and Grots from god knows how long ago.

I recently bought these at my FLGS's "Summer Market Day". Both boxes for just $40. Not sure if they are old enough to belong in this thread, though.

The heroes box is from 2000 I believe, the other is possibly slightly older (both are 3rd edition).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2024: 40 | Total models painted in 2025: 40 | Current main painting project: Tomb Kings

Arbites and a converted Chimera I sold on ebay years back. Sometimes I wish I hadn't.

Is that thread still alive?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Since I don't own those Arbites anymore, I thought I's add something that I DO still own.

Wow! This stuff is amazing...
After a little more scrounging around in bitz I found some old boarboyz without the boyz. I'll try to get some pics up of my stuff soon.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I have the Citadel Journal article that gave Orks the unit called Rokkerz. They were a music based unit that caused all sorts of havoc!! lol

Back then the CJ boys had loads of conversion bits. They even had conversion lots. so you called up GW and asked for this new conversion kit and boom they sent you what you needed to make stuff like:

Harlequin Dreadnoughts(wraithlords)
Exodite Scout Walkers (faster and lighter armed War Walkers)
and many many unique characters and how to convert them from GW stuff.

It was awesome stuff.
