Okay, making a Carcharodon Army (Primaris minis & rules). I have all the Marines from the new starter. I am getting Reivers & a Repulsor. I'd really like this to play like a close combat army. What should I add next? Also, should I do a beach sand base with sea blue trim (instead of traditional black or brown) or should I go with Sector Mechanicus bases?

avoiding the lorax on Crion

Basing is entirely your choice. Do what you want to!

And well primus at current are mostly geared for mid to close range fire, and only have one deadicated CC unit.

For chapter. Reavers seem very fluffy

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

I second the Reivers thing. They just scream Carcharodons.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Reivers alongside Tyberos can be BRUTAl if you can use the raven guard tactic for them. I am not sure what the ruling on that is right now, but oh boy would it be amazing to see a ton of reivers, aggressors and Tyberos pop up in your face turn 1 for some fun time. Giving Reivers the +1 strength is a huge jump for them due to so many things being t4.

I definitely say aggressors. They're points are aren't too prohibitive, being the cheapest primaris unit aside from intercessors and rievers, and they're the definition of close assault unit. They don't suffer any penalty for advancing so can get up in there surprisingly fast, and I think everyone forgets they have power fists.
For the style army you're talking about I'd say two squads of those with the bolter gauntlets.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
As for your base color it depends on the colors of your miniatures, whichever has more contrast with the miniatures would look best. If you're going light grey minis I'd say definitely don't do the bases grey, go for a black rubble or something dark to frame the mini.

It wouldn't be a Primaris army if you used him.

It isn't like the Chapter actually has rules, so this is really just a paint job.

So you might as well bring Tyberos and get those sweet, sweet benefits.

Regular dudes can be upgraded to Primaris in the fluff, so just say this is post-upgrading and use a Primaris Captain for his model.
