++ Total: [121 PL, 1994pts] ++

Created with BattleScribe

Tactics:
TWC and Characters go in fast while Razorbacks, GH and bikers grab midfield and provide fire support. Long Fangs sit back and punch some holes into big stuff.

Pros:
Solid, survivable and fast(ish) hitting power in CC
Good firepower against hordes and infantry

Cons:
Low on heavy hitting high damage firepower

Options:
I thought about taking Bjorn instead of the bikers, but 48 bolter shots (rapid fire) against 2 Lascannon shots (and reroll 1's) is a tough choice. Bjorn's CC power might prove invaluable against tough targets. Opinions?

I love it!! It's basically the same list that I'm currently playing with a wolf priest and a second unit of TWC instead of arjac and terminators.

Bikes are needed IMHO, but it probably depends on your meta. I'm facing lots of cheap bodies and those S4 shots are handy. Never tried bjorn as I don't own the model and never played against him, so I can't say anything about him.

5 lascannons should be enough as the bikes, TWC and the razorback will soak a huge amount of firepower leaving the long fangs untouched. Those transports are quite scary for many players. In close combat you may lack some high strenght hits with only 2 THs but wolf claws could mitigate this since they're way better than chainsowords.

I'd probably cut a shield in every TWC unit (the model without the shield will soak the AP-nothing firepower than the squad may attract), 1-2 shield in the bikes squad too, and I'd keep the grey hunters cheap (6 guys with a plasma gun as the only upgrade) in order to stick two other thunderwolves and probably give a bike to the priest. You may have spared points to equip the grey hunters with some plasma weapons anyway.

Don't forget to add Chainswords to the biker load-out; they're free and give that extra attack if they get caught up in CC.

I love bikes this edition; I'm actually mocking up a second unit of 5 right now, with one unit running storm bolters and storm shields, and the other unit running combi-plasma.

You don't have the room for points, but with your Thunderwolves and bikers, I wish you could tack on a Rune priest on a bike to roll with them. Storm Caller really helps increase survivability enough to get them across the board and into combat.

I really like the list though. Mine's a more mech version right now with no Wolves, but I dig it. And thank god you aren't running those hideous Wulfen models.....

Thanks for your input. Probably not going to add more TWC at this time since that's all the models that I have at hand. The GH have some plasma to really put the hurt to MEQ or other 3+ saves. They would really benefit from rerolling the 1's for some overcharged sweetness, but without leaving the Wolf Lord behind or incorporating Bjorn into the list for rerolls I don't see them overcharging that much, if at all.

Got some chopping up to do to my TWC to kit them for this edition, so I'd like to find a very well rounded loadout for them that I can stick with for a while. So their loadout is what I'm particularly interested in.

Bikers lost their access to ranged + melee + storm shield in the recent FAQ, unfortunately. So without dropping Storm Shields or Storm Bolters there's no room for melee weapons.

Well that's awful; I hadn't checked the FAQ yet. Definitely cuts back on the versatility they presented, but they are still an outstanding unit.

Actually one change occurred to me. How about changing that Wolf Lord to a WGBL with SS/TH instead for roughly the same points? The Wolf Priest is already giving rerolls to hit so the reroll 1's is kinda wasted... And a TH would boost the damage potential. Also giving reroll 1's to wound for the other thunder hammers (Wolf Claws already reroll wounds).

A battle leader is probably a better choice if you have a wolf priest. I field arjac that gives the re-roll wounds of 1 so the lord has better synergy. But with a priest the battle leader makes more sense, and an additional thunder hammer can be very useful in your list.
