Hi there. I'm a guard player and yes I have a Master of Ordnance, so I may be biased on this which is why I'm coming to you guys to see what you believe is fair.

Currently RAW, MoO can only buff: Basilisks, Wyverns, Manticores and Deathstrikes but I believe it stands to reason that he should be able to buff other SPGs such as the Griffon or Medusa and static gun platforms such as Thuddguns, Heavy Mortars etc.

What do you think? Should he only buff what is listed or the whole range of artillery?

Yes unsurprisingly the GW unit covers the units found in the GW index and doesn't cover units found in a separate suplemntary FW index.

The rules are clear, MoO only affects the unit he specifically affects

ThT is the RAW answer; but any time you have FW units HIWPI neefs to be discussed with your oppinent/TO before game.

This is the same/ similar to 7th edition razorback infernus, or if a dreadnaugt doraedo could ride in a storm raven(and a dozen other benefits called by name with a fw variant available.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Im not an AM familiar, but, if this is like the issue with Hammerheads and what kind of chassis' that Longstrike's Aura ability actually affected, GW went into the FAQ to clean up their keywords so that the TX7 Hammerhead from the Codex, and it's Forgeworld variants, all then simply had the keyword HAMMERHEAD. If this is the same nature of issue, it should be mutually understood in your gaming group that FW variants should be covered by the given ability.

That might come up in future FAQ's. But you have to wonder if not changing the MoO is intended. Maybe it is.

You'd think they could have easily written. "Affects all AM Artillery". Or something to that effect.

Harker is really a much better choice all-around. 6" bubble (versus 3") of re-roll 1s for any Catachan. Just make all your artillery 'Catachan' regiment keyword and plonk Harker in the middle. 22 extra points (over the MOO) well spent imo.

Might change quite a bit when the new Codex comes out (I'm assuming more regiments and restrictions will come into play), but for now he's happily directing the shots in my army.
