So I've been toying around with different lists for my admech before the codex comes out and now that I have a knight in progress of being built I wanted to help ironing out the list. I don't own any kastellans right now so please don't suggest putting those in.

Battalion -
dominus - volkite, phosphor serpentia
dominus - eradication, phosphor serpentia
Cawl
3 kataphrons - plasma/phosphor blasters
3 kataphrons - plasma/phosphor blasters
5 rangers - 2 arquebus, omnispex
10 vanguard - 3 plasma calivers, enhanced data tether / alpha with arc maul
Knight warden w/gauntlet, stormspear rocket pod

It's light on units, but I might actually get to go first for a game (I've only been able to seize in 8th so far) and with 8 drops it might just happen. The kataphrons just destroy stuff, but if they move they get a lot worse at shooting, which Cawl helps with A BUNCH with rerolls to hit.

What do y'all think?

Why would your kataphrons get worse at shooting while moving?
They have 'Heavy battle servitor' that negates the penalty for moving with heavy dakka.

As for the list I think you may have one to many tech priests in the list and vanguard can be a bit sucky in a large unit due to their poor leadership.

Consider splitting them into two units of 5.

I dont know how competitive your list will be as you dont have any of the top picks. Ad mech excel at artillery firepower so Dunecrawlers/kastellans (i know you said you didnt have any) and balistarii would make your list a bit more competitive.

Big thumbs up for trying out the destroyers though!

dunecrawler - neutron laser, extra heavy stubber, BSDT
dunecrawler - icarus array, BSDT

I totally forgot about the battle servitor rule! Epicness! I'd say you're probably right about the tech priests, but they are the only decent CC units outside of infiltrators/rustalkers or dragoons. I am kind of against balistarii because I just don't really like the model at all They are very good and I know they'd be a good addition, but my next purchase will probably be kastellans - do you think the dunecrawlers are equipped ok? I figured 1 of each is nice, but if I went to 3 I'd add another neutron laser. The s10 -4 d6 is just SO good lol

Also, do you think the warden is solid? Or should I switch it to an errant? Thanks!

Head on over here - most of the AdMech folks have tried out all the units (we have so few!) and you can get lots of advice/pointers on the Tactica.

Kataphrons are currently overpriced. Cutting these means you can opt for a Spearhead, so you don't need the TDP tax.

Blandguard > Vanguard - why invest in a unit point wise that evaporates to morale? Bare-bones (hence Blandguard) or opt maybe for Dragoons. I find those better at screening. They are more durable and more mobile.

Crusdaer > Warden - We want to shoot and nothing does it like the Crusdaer. Gatling / TC / Stormspear makes for a formidable firebase to augment our artillery.

I dont get it. You come inside forums to ask advice/opinions and start talking about a list that does what? if it is the only vlid list ypu got go for it..

Dragoons with lance are best screener also fast also antibloop.
Onagers i dont have a list with less than 3- 2neutron 1 icarus for me. and i only take min 3 only if i plan to have more kastelans.

What you gonna play with this list? you gonna cc dominus 135 points wasted? for real ad asking what we think ??
Did you even read the Ad mech 8th forums?

No dragoons not enough onagers no Crusader knight no IG bloop. No deep strike unit at all tempestus inflitrators smt. no Fast unit not even Spam infantry or a fast moving plasma smt.
Wtf is this ? Competitive is not. if you wanna say what you go good for you.
If you dont like any ad mech units or dont have any dont play ad mech.
And since i dont like to be offensive to none i ll give you a list that at least can do smt.

Take battalion and spamm cheap vanguard unit of 5 with one plasma lots of them backed fwith dominus. give your destroyers flamers and go for a fast unit of cheap hq troops to smapp overcharged plasma all around .Destroyer will be last line of moving units with flamers for counter charge.Still i Suggest take 10 rustalkers to at least have a chance in melee they are best counter unit and move 8. good luck

Ok @yoda, first off if you're going to sit here and insult me, learn to type and communicate in English a tad better. Second, I never said I wanted a competitive list and I have no interest in 'spam' as you say.

I don't like dragoons/balistarii for aesthetic (looks) reasons like I clearly stated in my first response, so please kindly go look somewhere else.

I guess I should just get back off of this place as people are largely just dick-ish unless you post lists that only they think are good.

Some of us try to be helpful and pleasant. Head over to the AdMech thread and folks can tell you how things have worked for them instead of people here on Army Lists just telling you what is optimal for competitions.

This is true - I have glanced at the tactica, though probably not since 8th has come out, and I did find it helpful.

I don't really have time during the summer at home taking care of the house and my son so now that I'm back at work I can check in on different 40k things on breaks during the work day lol

Welcome to the Dakka Dakka Army Lists forum where only cookie cutter competition lists are accepted. I also don't have Kastellans in my Ad Mech list because I don't like the model or it's price. I think when the new codex comes out we'll see a lot more Kataphron's and Electro-Priests
