Might very well be a stupid question but is a Neurothrope considered a Zoanthrope?

In other words, do a squad made of 3 Zoanthropes and 1 Neurothrope count as a squad of 4 in order to cast 2 psychic power per phase?

From Index Xenos 2:

A Zoanthrope unit of 4 or more models...

Is it a Zoanthrope unit? Does the unit have 4 or more models? If yes, then it can attempt to manifest two psychic powers.

Yes i understand.. like a space Marine Captain is still a space Marine!

You know what? I am having so much problem at the local gaming store that i start to see possible source of ambiguity everywhere!
Maybe i should simply find other people to play with. People that can read the rules and try to understand!

Its not really that. Its the fact that a Neurothrope is a model in a Zoanthrope unit. The rule doesn't require that those models be a Zoanthrope or anything else, just that they're in a Zoanthrope unit.

What I think Ghaz was pointing out is the fact the name of the Model does not matter, just if it is a Model within the Unit in question.
If there was a Rule that allowed this Unit to add 10 'Purple and Blue Flies,' it is a hypothetical so don't go looking for this Model, those flies would also count towards the number of Models within the Unit.

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.

More like a Space Marine Sergeant is still part of a Tactical Squad. Your opponents do sound lame if they're trying this kind of stuff on!

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
