Should (assuming my excel sheet didn't mess up for me again) come out to exactly 2000pts (102 PL)

I generally want a casual TAC army (and not looking to go to any tournies or anything), but want to be able to put up a fight.

Only have a couple of games under my belt this edition, but was thinking of either GS slingshot-ing with Swarmlord or having them burrow up with the Trygon depending on who I'm facing. My few games impressed that I sort of need some firepower, and after reading up everything I could find online, was thinking this list could be reasonably successful.

One concern would be that I'm not super positive I have enough to deal with a lot of armor, and if I could, I would love to be able to shuffle things around to fit in a Stonecrusher, but I'm not sure what I could shift to make that happen. Another concern is that everything pretty much starts on the table for me, and even with the Malanthrope offering some back-line protection, I feel like my chances of getting 1st Turn are low.

Thoughts/suggestions?

Well...it ain't bad. The main "issue" is you're kinda spread out...if you want smite spam, then smite spam...etc So...if you like the Zoeys then swap out the Prime for a Psi-bug for more Smite, or add some short range shooty if you want to shoot. Otherwise I do think you'd be happier with how it plays with more Reserve trix, maybe add in a Tyrannocyte? Add some Cannons and that puts lots of shooty where you want it

For a lot of "fun" lists a tunnel full of Stealers, and a Big Bug in a pod, armed with Stranglers is a Nightmare.

Yeah...The problem with the index is just all the toys that I want to play with . Actually, with respect to the Zoey's I was mostly hoping for a stable Wall of Synapse to move along the battlefield with the occasional Smite-ing, though I suppose the Warriors and Prime can also provide that help.

Looks like a fun list! I think this will be more of an "All rounder" so no matter the mission, you have pieces of the puzzle.

Man, it still feels weird to not take any Carnifexes :-/

re: Pyrovores - figured with all the potential 'in the opponents' face' options, they could actually get around to doing something. Also, figured I could use another non burrowing/hidden deployed unit to keep 50% units available to make use of the Trygon tunnel.

In your original list glad to see you upgraded from 2 to 3 biovores - I've tried 2 and they just don't quite seem to do enough to be worthwhile.

In your new list, primes give benefits to warriors and shrikes but not raveners, so I'd be inclined to try with shrikes instead. The issue is then getting the primes to keep up though ... I've not got deathleaper to work yet this edition, but that could just be me!

So after having played a bit with the Codex, and with all the new options available, trying out some new lists.

Things that have gone into consideration for this list building:
I've been finding biovores in units of 3 to just not deal as much damage as I want. Nearly guaranteed MW's have been nice, but so far, I feel like I do better with volume of conventional fire.
I find that I tend to want more shooting, which explains the Spearhead. And, as above, I think I find a second Exocrine much more generally reliable than the Biovores.
I apparently whiff charge rolls a lot, hence the Behemoth Battalion >__>.

Kronos should give the Exocrine + HGuard re-roll 1's for most of the game, and the Carni's should be able to push forward relatively safely and shoot relatively reliably from mid-field (and with the 30" IB safety from the Norn Crown, shouldn't have to worry about IB at all).
I'd prefer the Adrenal glands on the Hormas, but I'm hedging my hopes on that Behemoth re-rolls for charges.
Swarmy should be casting Catalyst and Onslaught on stealers and Hormas, slingshotting whatever is most useful to do so.
I'm hoping the Kronos Spearhead can dish out enough concentrated fire to take out larger targets in single turns.


NOTE: I don't play in a hyper competitive environment, so the likelihood of playing Morty/Magnus/Guilliman lists are super low.

How do you like the norn crown? I think its not too good as it only effects IB and NOT synanpse.

Your probably better off just picking swarmy as your warlord. Droping him on one side of the board in an extreme flank type move, the side with less LoS blocking terrain. Your opponenet will likely counter that with large anti tank shooting. then use his WL trait to redploy to the complete opposite flank. just make sure you leave a gap/ big enough for him and the tyrant gaurd at the edge of your deployment zone.
