I'm thinking of buying an y'vahra to spice up my tau army, but I'd rather not buy a whole new rulebook for just one model. Does anyone know anywhere you could find the rules and points values online?

A simple google image search returns the datasheet for the Y'Vahra from the FW index.

Are you asking us for help to pirate Game Workshop material?
Am curious though - Does Forgeworld follow the practice of including the Datasheet within the box?

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures. |

No.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Sure it does, but I can't find points values. Automatically Appended Next Post: JinxDragon wrote:Are you asking us for help to pirate Game Workshop material?

I mean if there is a legal way to download specific rules for a unit instead of spending 97 pounds (cost total with rulebook included) plus shipping on a single model I'd love to know it. Is there a more inexpensive e-book variant perhaps?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if I search for Y'Vahra datasheet, the points are right at the top of the page.
Now it MIGHT be that this is a 7th edition datasheet (I genuinely don't know). On the other hand, if you're spending £77 & postage on a single model, is the £15 for the index really so critical that it pushes you into "no buy" territory? And yes, I acknowledge that sooner or later the index too will be replaced - but - 'twas ever thus...

The first google result does indeed yield both rules and points... for seventh edition.
Given that GW is going to update all faction codexes within a year after releasing 8th, I kinda don't want to put another £15 on a book that may well become useless to me within eight months or so, for just one model.

It's possible that a scribe who annotates battles would know the answer to this. This scribe of battle wouldn't be sufficient for a sanctioned tournament alone but should be enough for friendly games.

There's 2 versions of the e-variant, one is super deluxe and ones a couple bucks cheaper than the paper version. It's worth getting just to have access to all the forgeworld rules for your army. Because these are gonna be it as far as official forgeworld rules for a long time. You're not getting an exclusive forgeworld Tau codex.

Yeah you may as well buy the FW index. If GW teleases a Tau codex this year or next, it will NOT contain FW models anyway.

What? The epub version in the link is £12.99.
As for buying the rules, it may actually be worth holding off for a while, though plenty of people seem to think Fires of Cyraxus has been shelved we have had indication that FW are waiting on the release of the AdMech and Tau codecies first and that it may be out later this year or early next year. There is no guarantee on this though, so take salt.

Had a second look, turns out it cost 17 euro, not 17 pounds. My mistake.
I'll keep looking. Maybe somebody in my club has the book.
