Useful stuff!

If you have any printed examples they'd be great to see.

Not yet. I'm going to take some samples when I'll have enought different models.

I think the magazine is not in the right position but I'm open to custom requests.

Yeah, while neat all of this is completely secondary to seeing a printed sample or example. The 3D images don't look particularly amazing, but at the scale you'll be making them I suspect they'll look completely fine.

The renders look fine, but do you have any pictures of actual prints of your parts? Pretty much every listing I clicked on was listed as First to Try. Coming up with a bunch of aftermarket parts can be really helpful, but it's not a great look to make your customers your beta testers. Shapeways can do some funny and unexpected things with prints from time to time, and I don't buy people's stuff if they haven't bothered to shell out for a test print to make sure the parts actually work as advertised.

As said I'm going to order some sample very soon.

While I won't be buying anything until I also see some prints to verify your scale is good, I have a request (you said you were open to them!).. Primaris Apothecary bits. An arm with a reductor pistol is really all I need but others who don't have Apothecary bits might be looking for backpacks, pads, or heads as well.. and the little vials for the belt.
I'll be watching this for those prints

Finally the fist prototypes are come. Here you can see them (I'm sorry for the pic quality, it's a bit difficult to photograph translucent odbject of that dimensions).

Tomorrow I'll bring some better quality pics (or at least I hope they will!) and a surprise. And if even with the sunlight the picture will be of low quality I'll try to prime the bits.

You should prime them white or grey then put some black wash on it to show off the details.

makes it far easier to see than ghost bits

It's good to post the translucent though. If you're never going to cast these and only offering them through the print service then people should know what to expect. My first shapeways order (a few years back now) caught me off guard.

I do agree though. Hit it with a light primer and a wash and if at all possible as many "known" things as possible for scale. The backpacks look like they could be awesome but are they huge on a Marine, tiny on a SOB? we just don't know.

Also, any word on my suggested Primaris Apothecary pieces? Emperor's champ kit for Primaris scale would be crazy.

Yeah, I was thinking to prime them in white.

Infact I wanted to take pics of the unpainted version anyway.
About the scale of the backpack they are thinked for normal humans power armors, in future the ones for super-humans, as the medic kit too.

Some of these are really nice. I like the translucent, but I would prefer to see them primed in white or painted on a model.

Pop Goes the Monkey has had a lot of their bits taken down from Shapeways. I wonder if this is going to be a widespread thing?

They look okay but not particularly good. You really need to prime and paint them in more flattering ways if you are serious about selling these. This is a niche of bits that has already been filled 40 times over and 3D renders and detail-obscuring raw prints would not be enough to sell me your product.
