So here's my question, due to a lot more unit availability within the 8th edition rules and CSM unit availability, is it possible to field Basilisks as Iron Warriors (CSM) given there is a Legiones variant produced by ForgeWorld?
I was considering fielding an artillery battery for my Iron Warriors in 40k given their background and I'm not sure if this would be acceptable. Anyone able to weigh in?

Apostles of Contagion (40K) - 1750 Points
Iron Warriors (30K/40K) - In progress
Farsight Enclaves (40K) - Planned
352. Infanteriedivision (FoW) - 3000 points |

Lore-wise it would be very acceptable, back in the 3rd Edition Iron Warriors could take Basilisks as part of their forces (but then so could Orks :-p)
Rules wise it would only be an issue for matched play, as there is no way that I know of the give a standard Basilisk keyword 'Chaos' or 'Iron Warriors'.
However, the datasheet for that Forge World unit might well be a way around this.

You can take renegade and heretics basilisk. They have the chaos keyword.
3 in a spearhead detachment would be fine. The HQ wouldn't be able to benefit from the IW trait, but then, it's only for shooting so mostly who cares.
The basilisks would be BS 4+ without the Iron warrior keyword.

I think you could take a detachment with Fallen and Basilisks though, as the Fallen have the Imperium keyword. They could then be at least in the same army I think?
But the Renegades version is probably more appropriate.

But if you did that you couldn't take any iron warriors ..

Unfortunately the legion basilisk doesn't have a 40K datasheet. Automatically Appended Next Post: Captyn_Bob wrote: Malathrim wrote:I think you could take a detachment with Fallen and Basilisks though, as the Fallen have the Imperium keyword. They could then be at least in the same army I think
