I've been wanting to build a squad of astra militarum veterans with shotguns, but I'm having a hard time finding out where to get models with shotguns, or how to convert them. I've checked the GW website with no luck, and ebay occasionally has some models. Any tips?

I would wait for the next codex. Since there are no models currently for AM vets with shotguns they might remove them from the codex

Krieg! What a hole...

Or

Both fairly pricy.

Anvil industries might be an option for them (if they still exist in the game. ).

They're on the "heroic" (read:cartoony 40k scale) side of things.

Alternatively you could get some SM scout shotgun arms from a bitz seller and convert your guardsmen with them like so:

Long shot. Try buying up some lost patrol from ebay. Resell the scouts but keep the shotgun arms...

Pretty easy shotgun conversion below. Looks like you just cut off the mag and glue a tube above the main one (lollipop sticks probably works for this).

Spoiler:

Isn't the best of looking ones but if you're strapped for cash and have a sweet tooth, hey why not?

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I prefer split coffee stirs. You can get like 50 for $1usd at any dollar store(if not many more) and they suit both "heroic scale"(would be like an 8-guage or 4-guage in real life) and an over-under double barrel sci-fi feel.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
