Hey,

I've just received a package from a company called TT-combat. Took an absolute age to come here, but they make nice lazer cut MDF terrain. And I'm really impressed. For £11 I have a massive ruins centrepiece, I mean this thing is huge.
Now I know in eighth you seem to need a lot more terrain on the table. These MDF pieces could be a really cost-effective solution. My only issue is storing it all.

I can hear my wallet groaning again. They have a pretty wide variety of mdf terrain, curious as to why I've never heard of them.

I've been pretty impressed with some of the laser cut terrain I've seen lately. Years ago I was totally opposed to it, but the quality has gotten so good over the years my opinion has changed. I was actually looking at that exact same piece you bought a couple weeks ago. Pretty sweet looking.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I've bought their painting workstation. With some PVA glue, it's sturdy and solid.

Our FLGS has an account with them, so I can buy stuff 10% off with no shipping costs. Bargain!

They have nice stuff - sadly the 80 pound order I set up a few weeks ago was around 40-43 to ship, so I cancelled it. May have been some weird combination of items I chose, but the international shipping to the US was really hefty.

Somewhere.

I dropped about £80 to get enough scenery to build the core of a Necromunda table a couple of months ago (the Industrial Hive section is your friend for walkways), and have slowly been assembling the stuff.

It's great stuff, and with one exception I've had no problems assembling it.

What really surprised me was when I base coated the buildings white or metal the dark lines that form the detail on the buildings (there isn't much, but it is there) came through excellently. It means they look good with a simple base coat, some weathering and washing - if a bit monotone. Certainly good enough to start playing with, though.

I'm currently preparing the smaller stuff I got (some barricades, street lights, toxic containers and the like) which has proven more awkward to assemble than the larger stuff. But all told, I would be happy to buy more...if £80 hadn't bought me enough to cover a lot of area. I'm sure I will get more eventually, but...yeah.

So is the weight of the product, it won't take many kits to put together I really pricey parcel, that and for some reason U.K.-US and vice versa is substantially more expensive than pretty much every other area of the world, plus when ordering from the US, UK residents run the (pretty high) risk of getting their parcel intercepted and the VAT levied, as well as a handling charge, but with absolutely no mechanism to voluntarily pay the tax ahead of time to ensure smooth delivery and avoid the handling charge (which will exceed the VAT up to around $60 in value.)

Rant over.

As to TTCombat, they're great, they're part of Troll Trader, a FLGS from the next county over to me and prolific eBay seller. Don't own any of their terrain, but can vouch for their acrylic stuff, I've had a set of their X Wing templates for years and they're still in great condition despite less than careful handling.

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one

Whoa, whoa, whoa, they're part of the Troll Trader? I've gotten a lot of stuff on eBay from those guys, always with good to great shipping time, service and pricing. All my TTCombat stuff has come from them, and I'd never put 2+2 together before.

I've had great luck in the UK getting my TTCombat stuff from their eBay store cheaper than the actual TTCombat online shop. The first thing I bought was this exact building piece, although I haven't built it yet for storage reasons, but I'll need to get on that sometime soon...

It's well worth it, large enough for 30 figures to pulverize my poor orks from cover. I've now put together a load more kits from them and the only issue I've had is with their guard tower model which only fits together with some careful clipping and a hammer! But again great pieces and the burnt wood smell is great too.

Ha! My wallet has forgiven me after seeing GWs terrain prices! And I'm new to the hobby, all we had before was coffee cups and books.

Yeah, I've got two of them now. Fills out a table pretty nicely.
