Hello guys,

So here's my semi-competitive list with Death Guard.

Lord of War
Mortarion (Miasma of Pestilence, Blades of Putrifaction) 470 pts

Outrider Detachment

HQ
Daemon Prince of Nurgle with Wings (Set of Malefic Talons, The Suppurating Plate Relic, Plague Wind) 156 pts

Elites

5 BlightLord Terminators (1x Blight Launcher, 2x combi-plasma, 1x combi-flamer, 4x Bubonic Axe, Champ with Flair of Corruption) 275 pts

Troops
5 Plague Marines (2x Blight Launcher, Champ with Plasmagun) 136 pts
5 Plague Marines (2x Blight Launcher, Champ with Plasmagun) 136 pts
10 Cultists (autoguns) 40 pts

Fast Attack
Foatid Bloat Drone (2x Plaguespitters and Plagueprobe) 158 pts
Foatid Bloat Drone (2x Plaguespitters and Plagueprobe) 158 pts
Foatid Bloat Drone (2x Plaguespitters and Plagueprobe) 158 pts

Heavy Support
Plagueburst Crawler (Plagueburst Mortar, 1x heavy slugger, 2x Entropy Cannons) 156 pts
Plagueburst Crawler (Plagueburst Mortar, 1x heavy slugger, 2x Entropy Cannons) 156 pts

1999 pts - 4 Command Points
11 units

So here's the general idea. Feel free to give advice on anything.
Mortarion will move up the board turn 1 and advances together with 2 Bloat Drones. He will buff them with his Warlord Trait giving them rerolls to wound. When Mortarion is close to the enemy the Terminators will deepstrike near him also benefiting from his Warlord trait. The terminators have a multi-functional purpose. They are solid at shooting and in close combat. They will also act as a unit that stays with Mortarion all the time to serve as another threat.
The Daemon Prince will move forward with the Plague Marine squads. Giving rerolls of 1 for their shooting. One Bloat drone will move up with the Prince aswell. The Daemon Prince can handle Horde (Like Cultists, Concripts, Ork Boys, anything with alot of attacks and no AP value) effectively thanks due his relic and his Psychic power 'Plague Wind'.
The cultist will serve as either a meat-shield for my Plagueburst Crawlers or to deny a flank for deepstriking units. If there are no deepstriking units they will stay back to grab objectives.
Plagueburst Crawlers will stay at the back shooting High Toughness targets.
Stratagems that will be used most often are Veterans of the Long War and Cloud of Flies probably. A downside to this army might be the low model count. But that's mostly the story with Death Guard and the fact that I only have 4 Command Points.

I think your list is pretty good. Are you sure you meant Outrider Detachment? Anyway, your plan sounds solid to me.

Yeah I meant an outrider detachment since I lack one HQ for a batallion. Thanks for the reply. Any other takers?

Looks solid, but you need to drop some points because the Plagueburst Crawlers need to take either a heavy slugger or rothail volley gun.

Thanks for the correction. Changed the list a bit. -2 cultists and 1 combi-flamer in termies instead of combi-plasma.
Currently working on a list without Mortarion. Anyone else who has some advice?

I, personally, would drop a plaguedrone and get another Daemon prince with wings.

It will probably do more dmg and will also give you the HQ choice you need to get a battalion, which is worth 3 command points.

That's actually a good idea.
I'm gonna alter the list.

I tried this list this weekend against my AM friend. His list was a tourney list. Lots of basilisks, Mortars, Eartshakers battery, 90 conscripts and tempestus with plas.
We only played 3 rounds and I lost with 3-5 victory points.

I didn't get first turn so he unloaded all of his shooting on Mortarion. He had 4 wounds left before he made it into combat in turn 2.
But when he got in combat he was destroying everything. Still don't know if I should bring him. The rest of my army survived and if I had one or two more turns i think I could have wiped him of the board. The Bloat Drones are awesome! The Plagueburst Crawlers are good aswell. And 4 Command points is just to little imo.

The Alpha strike this edition is so strong. That is usually what happens. If you had Magnus is most certainty would have died. So I wouldn't feel too bad. We might have to see how that is addressed. I think I read somewhere that people who build alpha strike armies and go first have like a 70% win rate. It is crazy.

It's not there - must be some kind of error.

Alright thanks. I was watching some reviews of the codex and they were saying maybe it was a way of making DG be a creeping aura death army, but more than likely GW just forgot to put the wings cost in

I also think they just forgot the points cost. Daemon Prince wings are referenced in several other places in the book.

Also, the Blightlord Champion can't take a Flail. Entry says "A Blightlord Terminator may take..."

They're separate distinctions, same reason why the Plague Champion can't take special weapons apart from Plasma gun

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."
