I'm thinking of rebasing my Space Marine army with the newer 32mm bases. However, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg buying them from GW.

Look like poor knockoffs.
Head to Aliexpress, you get better knockoffs there.

I've gone through many many many of those knockoff bases, they're great. Dunno if I bought off that exact seller, there's a few on ebay shipping them from china, just pay attention to the estimated shipping times as sometimes they can take a while to get depending on how they're shipped, some sellers only take a couple weeks, some take a month+, but they're all selling the same bases and they're good bases

Is there any noticeable dip in quality? I know the GW ones are pretty simple, but I've never had a defective base.

Not really, they're plastic bases. There's perhaps a bit more flash around the rim of the base than GW, and the plastic is just a bit harder, but it's still black polystyrene and just as thick and takes the regular plastic cement just fine. One thing I really like about them over GW bases is that the top-to-bevel edge is very sharp and crisp, GW 32mm bases ten to just round over into the side slope, these delineate the side from the top much better. Doesn't make a huge difference once you've got sand and flock on top, but it's something I've appreciated

I've used most of the different size rounds and squares between all my Space Wolves, WHFB Chaos LotR and a few other projects, no complaints at all
