I'm new to the tournament scene, just starting off at small stores this edition. I think some models can be swapped between the detachments, but I wanted yours guys opinion on it first. Any and all advise is appreciated.

it just depends on what your priorities are. Personally I'd be tempted to put Arquebuses in Mars to reroll misses and maybe even the Dunecrawlers? it's durability vs making sure you hit tbh

Second this sentiment.

You want anything shooting for real in with Cawl. The Arquebus especially so, because they need to hit to be worth the investment. So swap the Troops out between your detachments. The Blandguard would benefit best from the -1 to-hit as your screen, so they are harder to dislodge via shooting. The Neutronagers need to be with Cawl, because their low number of shots simply must hit. The Icarus one will probably be fine with just the TPD, since you are out of slots once you shift stuff around.

Scrap the upgrades on the Vanguard. They are a throw-away screen unit. Datasmith is probably superfluous too with Binharic Override being available.

This is what I would suggest:

HQ:
Cawl
Enginseer

Troops
Rangers x5, x2 Arquebus

You have 14pt to play with - which isn't much, but you could add CHS to your two Onagers or something. Maybe an Arc Rifle to each Vanguard squad, for variety.

a Omnispex on 2 of the Ranger units is 14pts

True. Might help a little, since the Arquebus is only AP -2, so the loss of cover might force them into either no save of a sub-optimal one.

Thanks for everyone's feedback, its appreciated.

Although I'd love to add a big group of taser chickens for Stygies deployment. I only have 1 on hand.

Why a Dominus? Why not a second Enginseer?

I would cut all of the Arquebuses for another Neutron Crawler... but that's me. I honestly don't think snipers make a significant difference, not when you're going to be dueling Leman Russes soon.

this list can perform better.
The main issue we are facing
a) Robots are good but can be outmaneuvered. so you need other options
b) Sniper are range 60 can be used as Mars to provide 4-6 shots from MAx range and thats also their defense.@ far from enemies so you dont really need them Stygies.
i use 2 x 5 ranger 4 sniper.
c) Dragoons 4 of them are an option to do a lot fo work.Stygies provide a whooping -2 to hit at 12 intc and will devastate many enemies with the buff to hit 2+/4+ explode

d) if you remove tech priest dominus for an engiseer and 2 snipers hile you make all vanguard or some simple rangers you can add an icarus.
Play the list if you see you getting tabled use onager for extra str and extra defence. The icarus stygies -1 to hit can be also infiltrated extreme option for anti air. though i dont like single onagers i prefer them in pairs its also valid.

This list is waht we most likely see with small variations.
