I finished my Green Knight a while ago and only just taken decent photos of him. I wanted to try and recreate the patterned barding that was on the 'Eavy Metal version. Was a fun test in freehand. Flags were something I'd never done before either.

If I could change anything I'd redo the base... As it's pretty... Corky/plain. Maybe when I'm feeling brave enough to prize his stupid resin arse off that base...

Amazing, I love the shading and freehand on the barding and pennant.

The water effects on the base look great, but the dirt does look a little plain; that close to the water you would expect a bit more greenery. Instead of pulling the model off the base, why not just add some moss, litchen, and other plant life? Perhaps some rocks and/or random debris as well.

It looks a bit too "layered" from the back to my eyes, so it might be worth trying to cover that a bit with rocks, plants, and possibly adding some extra dirt to give it more of a gradient and/or make the layers look less perfectly flat?

Also maybe paint a bit of gloss or water effects onto the dirt nearest to the water, to make it look a bit muddy - though I'm not sure if that would work well or if there's a better way to do it.

The Green Knight model by GW is one of my favorites and man, you have done it justice, Great job!! Your paint job just makes the entire model pop and your base really enhances the over look of the mini. Awesome stuff

Really nice. Have you thought about adding a couple more tufts of grass to the base to break up the large cork areas?

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Thank you The freehand & shading was challenging but fun.

Yeah the extra foliage sounds like a good idea and I agree that it looks too layered, perhaps more rocks etc and different grades of sand could smooth that out a bit.

Hmmmm.

Thanks, and yes, I've been thinking about ways to improve the base in general >.<
