I bought some AoS Chaos Mauraders, and i'm wondering if it'd be acceptable to you all personally to use them as Cultists? Would it be beneficitial to give them some sci-fi gear? (guns, CSM arms/pads, etc) or are space vikings just fine? There is already an ad-mech esque cultist in the generic set, why not a Space wolfy variety?

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Are they the same size, or are they larger? They're on the same size base so they should be fine. As far as giving them gear goes it's totally up to you, I'd say they're good the way they are.

Im building them right now, and as far as I can tell both gameplay wise and size wise, they're cultists. They have the same scale, both are 20ish mm.

I would have no problem with this. Depending on what you wanted to do you could add in a few random IG bitz throughout the unit to give them a more 40k feel - but they could easily be left as is and still be passable

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Vigo. Spain.

Many people do this, specially with the Khorne variant of Blood reavers

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

A Protoss colony world

I use Bloodreaver models completely stock as Khorne Berzerkers, and no one in my play group gives me any grief, even in tournaments. So I'd say go for it! I left my models stock so that I could eventually use the models if and when I decide to start playing AoS.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
