Hi guys,

I'm looking for ideas. I want to make a custom Death Guard lord model that would be played as an "artillery officer".

Basically, just a cheap lord to place near my Plagueburst Crawlers in the rear to help them with re-rolls.

What should he look like?


I was thinking of giving it a pose like this.



Some "behind the lines" overseer kind of guy. But not sure of what bits I could use / what sort of conversions I could make. Suggestions?

Yes must be a death guard marine, it would be counted as Chaos Lord in the codex

Off the top of my head, there are a few models. Tallyman or the apothecary are fairly close wouldn't take a ton of conversion. One of the easy build plague marines is also posed fairly similarly, but is an easy build so may not be as flexible with conversions. I also believe the dark vengeance box set had a chaos lord close to what you are looking for.

How good are you with the Green Stuff? There is the Blight Launcher dude form the 3 marines box (the cheap one).
I selceted him because fo the stance.
You could just
- Remove the arm with the launcher and cut the tentacle
- Put an auspex or similar item on the tentacle arm to show he is a tech-guy that makes measurements and stuff
- Cover the other side with greenstuff, taking the Tempestus Scion officer as an inspiration for the folds
- Cut from some kit an additional ocular or similar object and stuck it on the side of the helmet to represent some long-range measurement gubbinz

You could even use any plague marine and use the three-eyed champion helmet from the CSM kit.

OOOH okay so I am not sure how well this will work but it could be awesome.

If you can use right-handed space marine arms and repose them a bit, you could probably make an arm holding some of the IG binoculars from the Leman Russ tank kit to it's eyes (this bit).

The other arm could be resting upon a sheathed sword (this bit from the sternguard kit).

CSM the arms up a bit, tack onto a normal deathguard or whatever body you want, and voila!

If money isn't an issue, get the Tallyman and then swap out his scribbling arm with something else and his tally board with an infected auspex or something. Replacing his head with a helmeted head or something with a headset (or, more humourously, a nurgling whispering to him) would set him apart from existing tallymen from your army.

otherwise id say, Mk3 armor in a decent pose.

corrupted servo skulls or nurglings with eye balls up the wazoo or have a goofy one holding binoculars.

back pack with spotting equipment.

Great model I have two of them. The head and right hand (tablet) are separate making conversion easy.

Proxies are generally ok as long as they occupy the same amount of space as the regular model and is on the same size base.
