The Kaiju Rampage Playtest file is a reimagining of my game Giant Monster Rampage. The reason for the new title is to differentiate it from GMR, at least until playtesting for the game is complete. At that time, the title may be changed to Giant Monster Rampage 4th edition, or it may remain Kaiju Rampage. I will not decide which title to use until I am ready to publish the final version of the game.

I am going to be doing things a bit different with this edition of the game. I want to release the game as soon as possible, but I also don't want to rush it. I want to be able to give you a solid game that plays well and that has a rulebook that is easy to read with lots of great artwork. In order to do that I need more playtesters and I need to generate some funds to pay for the artwork, editing, and layout.

In order to achieve both of those things at the same time, I have decided to release the beta version of the game for sale here on Wargame Vault. The money I make off the playtest version will be used to fund the things I mentioned earlier. I also hope that those of you who are willing to purchase the playtest PDF will also be willing to send in feedback on the game, thus helping to increase the amount of playtest data available to me to make the game better.

The playtest file will remain for sale until I feel the game is ready for the next step. During this time, the file will be updated as needed once enough playtest reports have been evaluated, therefore it is important to keep notifications about the file turned on if you want to receive the most recent version of the file. Once I reach the next step, the game will be removed from Wargame Vault as I start the process of securing art and finding an editor and graphic designer.

If you are unable to support the game via Wargame Vault, but still want to help playtest, I will be happy to send you a copy of the current playtest file. All I ask is that you try and play at least 3-4 games a month using the system's various options and send me an after game report letting me know how the game's played out.

The finished game will first be available only in print. I have not decided if I will release a PDF version of the finished book. If I do, it will likely be a few years after I release the print version.

The file can be found here: http://www.wargamevault.com/product/189434/Kaiju-Rampage-Playtest-File and I can be reached via email at radioactive_press@yahoo.com or through my Radioactive Press Facebook page.

I'm a big fan of all things Kaiju, so...I'm interested, but what kind of game is this?

Where can I read up more on it?

Thanks!

It is a miniatures game where you can use any miniatures or toys you want to represent the monsters and mechs.

I have a few pictures of games in progress up on the Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/Radioactive-Press-159730947393107/

You can also find more information about the previous edition here: http://radioactive-press.weebly.com/

Here is a write up from a convention I attended a few years ago: http://wackomedia.com/giant-monster-rampage/

I hope these help give you the information you are looking for.

Thanks,
Ken
