Pretty much the topic title, I'm building a bolt on assassin group for one of my armies and they need an HQ to avoid the cp penalty of being an auxiliary detachment.

So far the cheapest I've found are a company commander (AM) and a Primaris Psyker (Astra Telepathica)

Have I missed anything obvious?

Inquisitors can be Psykers for cheap so you may want to do that.

I considered it, but they're 15 points more expensive than Primaris psykers, and points are tight at the moment

You listed the cheapest two HQs choices for Imperium currently.

Never knew someone would complain about a 4w models worth 40 pts until today

Especially someone who can hide them all besides a Culexus!

Point. Definitely a point. Honestly I wouldn't even take the hq if I could field the three assassins by themselves, but when push comes to shove, I can live with am extra smite from a Primaris Psyker on the table

She may not be the cheapest, but Celestine is a steal for what she can do. She plays the character shenanigans game as well as the assassins, and serves well as a secondary bullet sponge to your culexus if they need a break. Perhaps she would play well into your strategy.

Agreed, Celestine is my go-to for Vanguard detachments of Assassins or other Imperial stuff, although I'd expect a nerf in Chapter Approved.

Primaris Psyker is a great call otherwise, or maybe an Inquisitor if you want him in a transport.
