Couldn't find much discussion on this. Does anyone know if this gets the -1 to hit for Alpha Legion rule?

If it has the correct <LEGION> keyword and you're satisfying all other rules to gain the Legion Trait, then I don't see why not.

Edit: the Rapier itself won't benefit.

The crew would, but the rapier wouldn't. They function as separate units

Ya I guess where I get confused is, you need to be infantry, bike or helbrute to get the bonus right?

the rapier = artillery/vehicle
the chaos marines arming it = infantry.

so when you are shooting at the rapier battery, I'm unsure how it applies.

so it depends on how the artillery work then?

Do your opponents decide if they are shooting the artillery, or the marines?

The crew act a bit like characters, so you have to target the rapier, unless crew are closest
